In Pokémon GO there are many strong Pokémon. Farbeagle is not one of them. But that seems to change soon – at least for a while.
What makes Farbeagle special? Farbeagle is a special, but not particularly strong Pokémon. The little painter monster of the Normal type appears once daily via the snapshot surprise feature. It can photobomb you while you take a picture of a Pokémon. Once you finish the snapshot, it appears in the wild to be caught.
The second special feature is the monster’s move learning. Because Farbeagle learns the moves that the Pokémon you wanted to take a picture of master.
In this way, you can influence the moves of Farbeagle when you catch it. This makes it very versatile, but generally it is rather weak. However, now there comes a mode in PvP where this Pokémon fits very well.
Farbeagle will apparently be a real monster in the Mini-Cup
This is the Mini-Cup: In the GO Battle League, the “Holiday Cup: Mini Edition” will start on December 14 during the December events. It runs until December 24.
The rules are: Only Pokémon with a maximum of 500 CP are allowed to participate, and only the types Normal, Grass, Electric, Ice, Flying, and Ghost are permitted.
That’s why Farbeagle fits: The rankings for the upcoming Mini-Cup are already visible on the portal “PvPoke”. These are based on simulations – and currently rank Farbeagle as the big favorite for this cup (via pvpoke.com).
It sits at the top with the move combination “Incinerate” and “Flying Press”, but in general Farbeagle has a wide range of moves without providing too much weakness. It theoretically defeats favorites like Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix, Amarino, or Jigglypuff. Its biggest opponents will be Pokémon like Talonflame, Litwick, Epitaph, or Alolan Marowak.
The problem: Some make the use of Farbeagle difficult. On one hand, it needs a lot of candies and even XL candies to reach its maximum value. Even a perfect Farbeagle reaches 487 CP only at level 50. Since it is also not easy to get, that is a lot of work. Additionally, you cannot use TMs on it and cannot learn a second move.
Lastly, one should carefully consider whether to level up Farbeagle that high, as it costs many resources and the Mini-Cup only runs for a limited time.
Nevertheless: If you already have a Farbeagle with good moves, or catch one in the coming days to which you can assign good moves by taking snapshots of your corresponding Pokémon, you should keep the Cup in mind. Because then you could win a strong attacker for the Cup. Otherwise, however, another date is coming up: The “Young and Wise” event has started.
