In Pokémon GO there will be a raid hour tonight on July 3rd. This is reported by players from New Zealand. So you will again encounter legendary raids more frequently.
Where does the info come from? Niantic itself has not announced anything about it, but players from New Zealand report a raid hour. On the other end, it is already after 6 PM and New Zealand trainers have increasingly encountered raids.
This is not the first time, that Pokémon GO has an unannounced raid hour. It fits the pattern, as there was also such a raid hour every Wednesday in June.
Raid Hour in July 2019 – What you need to know
What happens during the event? At 5:40 PM local time, a legendary egg will appear on all gyms. Exceptions are the gyms where a raid is already taking place or where an EX raid has just been triggered.

At exactly 6 PM, all these eggs will hatch with a duration of one hour. By 7 PM, the event will be over and the raid hour will end.
Which Pokémon is the focus this time? This time it revolves around Groudon. The ground Pokémon is the current legendary raid boss and will also appear more frequently during the raid hour.
You can counter Groudon with water, grass, and ice types. The top counters are Kyogre, Roserade, and Gyarados. You can find a detailed counter guide here:
This can now be established: After we had an announced raid hour every Wednesday in June, there is now also an unannounced raid hour taking place on a Wednesday.
Niantic may now host such an event every Wednesday and give players the chance for more legendary raids.
Niantic already announced this during the legendary lunch break. If the feedback is positive, they could hold such an event every week. Apparently, the feedback for the evening raid hour is positive and they are hosting such an event more often.
The GO Fest in Dortmund also starts on the weekend. We will give you all the info:
