A trainer in Pokémon GO has encountered an item that is not yet active in the game. The community is speculating about what it could mean.
In Pokémon GO, there are a variety of items you need for daily adventures. There are different types of balls for catching Pokémon, items to restore your Pokémon’s health, and many more.
A trainer on Reddit is now reporting that an unknown item has appeared for them. Neither the item’s exact purpose nor what it is is known to the community. However, they are making guesses about what it could be.

What does the trainer say? The trainer explains on Reddit that this window with the unknown item suddenly appeared for them. They write: I had just finished a research, defeated a Rocket, and picked up a Zygarde cell. And then it came right after that.
In response to another trainer’s question about whether the animation might appear when a new special research is released, the author of the post replies: It was random and I didn’t get any new special research. I am level 50 and have completed all themed research.

As it seems, the appearance of the animation with the item is not yet regularly planned and occurs randomly with different trainers. It remains to be seen when and in what form the item will find its regular place in Pokémon GO and what it will be good for.
