In Pokémon GO thrilled players with a bonus during the GO Fest. Some believe it generally improved the game.
What was that bonus? At the GO Fest three legendary bosses appeared that players could catch in raids.
- Proto-Kyogre
- Proto-Groudon
- Mega-Rayquaza
The three powerful monsters were popular targets among trainers, but became even more popular when players found out that an unannounced bonus was active: The legendary bosses were unusually easy to catch during the GO Fest.
Green catch circles instead of red appeared after winning the battle against the monsters. This meant: The monsters stayed significantly easier in the ball than usual. There was hardly any risk of not catching one of the raid bosses. In fact, one could even risk throwing Razz Berries at the monsters to get extra candy.
This created a good mood among trainers, some of whom now believe that the bonus should definitely return.
Mega-Rayquaza was a popular raid boss:
This is what players say: In a post on the subreddit for Pokémon GO, TheSilphRoad, there is a lot of praise for the bonus.
User buddy341 describes that he usually hardly does legendary raids back-to-back because it simply takes so long to throw the balls at the monsters. This time, however, it made sense to just play more raids in a row – also because enough players could find the raids with Mega-Rayquaza: This and the full lobbies for Ray made the event very enjoyable and I hope this will also be part of future events
, says the user.
And other players agree:
This was one of the best aspects of raiding Rayquaza. I had hoarded over 30 premium passes from the time before Covid. I used almost all of them yesterday except for three because I could catch them so easily!
(via reddit). In previous GO Fests, I generally avoided legendary raids because I was more interested in catching and searching for shinies. Raids during the GO Fest take a lot of time, both because of the countdown and the low catch rate
, a user explains (via reddit):This year, these two issues were fixed, and as a result, I did a dozen more raids. A very welcome change that I hope will be the norm in future GO Fest and Tour events.
That was fantastic. Parents playing with their children have long complained that the catch rate makes things like raid hour so much harder because the kids either can’t make the throws and lose the legendary monster, or the parents have to do it
, emphasizes one (via reddit)This is how all raids should always be
, says one (via reddit).Ideally, this would always be the catch rate; but I would compromise if it is the catch rate for special events: GO Fest, Community Day, Raid Days, etc.
, agrees another (via reddit).
The Ready Button that suddenly became active for everyone during the GO Fest is also getting a lot of praise. Overall, it seems that trainers are very happy that the raids could be completed faster and easier – or at least the catch sequence after the actual battle.
