In Pokémon GO it’s winter time and this would be the time for new monsters from the 5th generation. We show you 8 Pokémon that could appear this winter.
When could they come? In a few weeks it’s Christmas and Pokémon GO traditionally also celebrates with a large event. Last year new Pokémon from the 4th generation were introduced, focusing mainly on the Ice type.
This could also fit well this year. So far there has only been one wave of new Pokémon from Gen 5 and that was quite a while ago. Therefore, an additional release this year would be even more important.
These Pokémon are ideal for a winter event
How are the Pokémon chosen? Here we mainly present Ice Pokémon. Additionally, we will show another Pokémon that fits the winter theme.
Gelatini, Gelatroppo and Gelatwino
The Pokémon that resembles an ice cream cone might also fit summer, but it is an Ice type and looks frosty.
Gelatini has two evolutions, Gelatroppo and Gelatwino. In the console games, this family was mainly found in cold regions. This would fit winter.
How strong will Gelatwino be? Gelatwino will be an Ice attacker, comparable to Articuno. While it cannot compete with top attackers like Mamutel or Snibunna, it is still a viable alternative.
Petznief and Siberio
The two polar bears are ideal for winter and an Ice event. There truly would be no better time to introduce polar bears in Pokémon GO.
How strong will Siberio be? This Pokémon is also a solid Ice attacker. It has an attack value of 233, making it better than Rossana. However, it has slightly weaker moves. It won’t be as strong as Mamutel or Glaziola.
Frigometri
This Pokémon is the flagship Pokémon for winter. It strongly resembles a snowflake. Frigometri has no evolution.
How strong will Frigometri be? The Ice Pokémon will not play a significant role in the meta. With an attack value of 190, it does not stand out among the top attackers.
In PvP, however, it could be more interesting. It learns many charge moves from different types, making it versatile.
Sesokitz and Kronjuwild
The two Pokémon have special forms. Depending on the season, they take on different colors. There is indeed a winter form of Sesokitz and Kronjuwild. These would fit ideally for a possible winter event.
How strong will Kronjuwild be? This Pokémon will not play a significant role. It has weak moves and a low attack value.
These Pokémon could also follow: Just under a year ago, dataminers found two new costumed Pokémon that fit perfectly with Christmas. Therefore, previous Pokémon in new costumes could also appear this year.
