What kind of event is it? At the beginning of June, Niantic held a global Pokémon GO Fest. This event is now entering the next round in the form of a total of three live events in the cities of Berlin, Seattle, and Sapporo. Germany is starting first, which is why the GO Fest in Berlin begins this weekend.
To participate, you need a special ticket. This can be booked through the Niantic ticket page for one of the event days. Below, we will show you how to best prepare for the live event so that you do not waste valuable time on-site and what you should consider in your event planning.
When does the GO Fest Berlin take place? The event runs for a total of three days from July 1 to July 3, 2022, each day from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. Those who have a special “Early Access” ticket can also start playing as early as 9:00 a.m.
7 Tips for Preparing for the GO Fest in Berlin
Those who have gotten a ticket for the GO Fest in Berlin can look forward to numerous spawns and bonuses this upcoming weekend. However, the event time on-site is limited and thus precious, which is why you should prepare for it now.
It is also helpful if you think about a few points in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises at the event. Below we have summarized 7 tips that should help you prepare for the GO Fest in Berlin.
1. Plan your travel and book accommodation
The most important preparation is to plan your travel to the live event. Think in advance about how to get to Britzer Garten in Berlin. Also consider which entrance you selected when purchasing your ticket, as you can only enter the park at that entrance.
As the operators of the location themselves state on their homepage, there are only a few parking spaces available on-site (via britzergarten.de). Therefore, it’s best to use public transport.
Regardless of the way you travel, make sure to allow plenty of time to avoid wasting valuable time in Britzer Garten. According to Niantic, entry is possible from 8:00 a.m. local time, but the event content will only be unlocked when your booked time starts.
Book a hotel: If you are not from the area near Berlin, you may want to arrange accommodation. However, the availability of hotel rooms around the event location is currently quite poor, and prices are now correspondingly high. What do you need for entry? To enter the park, you will only need your confirmation email for the ticket purchase and your digital ticket in the game. You will need to show this to the staff on-site.
2. Organize Pokémon storage
Before the GO Fest in Berlin starts, you should significantly sort out your Pokémon storage. This way, you can play on-site without having to constantly transfer monsters. Especially the new Shinys, Tarnpignon, and Grillmak will be interesting for many players. If you want to make the most of the 7 hours of general access, you should have at least 500 free slots for the event.
For sorting, it’s best to use the filter and tag functions in the game, allowing you to sort your monsters directly by strength. By entering the search function “0*,1*,2*”, you will see all Pokémon that have a maximum of 2 stars.
If you still need to sort monsters during the event, the filter “Alter0” is also recommended. This shows you only monsters that are not older than 24 hours. This way, you can directly separate yourself from the useless ones you caught at the GO Fest in Berlin.
3. Collect balls, berries, and important items
During the GO Fest, you will need a lot of balls and berries. Since the Community Day with Kapuno has likely cost you many of them, you should replenish your stock accordingly. Trainers with a ticket for general access, and thus 7 hours of playtime, should have at least 350 balls available.
Trainers with extended access to the GO Fest in Berlin will need more balls accordingly. Of course, you can also earn new balls on-site, but it’s important to have a good foundation laid ahead of time so that your items don’t suddenly run out.

What items are also important? Depending on the Pokémon, it’s also worth using Sananabeeren when catching. These provide you with double candies. So make sure to stock up on these as well.
If you want to participate in raids on-site, also think about premium battle passes and golden Himmihbeeren. You’ll also need sufficient revives and potions to restore your monsters after the battle. Additionally, you can use incense to attract even more Pokémon.
4. Prepare and charge your devices
To enjoy the GO Fest in Berlin without worry and without technical problems, you should prepare your devices in advance and fully charge your smartphones. Also, take a power bank with you so you can charge your phone again while on the go. Don’t forget to fully charge this beforehand as well.

5. Check the weather
Before making your way to the GO Fest in Berlin, you should check the weather for your booked event day. Currently, it is expected to be particularly warm on all three days. Therefore, also think about appropriate sun protection.
Even in case of rain, the live event will take place. Therefore, you should also think about weather-appropriate clothing as well as bring rain protection, such as a poncho or umbrella.
6. Organize food and drinks
During the GO Fest in Berlin, you should also think about having enough food and drinks. There will be water refill stations in Britzer Garten where you can fill up your water bottles. So definitely bring a bottle with you.
