What event is it about? From August 11 to 15, 2023, the global World Championship event is taking place in Pokémon GO due to the Pokémon World Championship in Yokohama. During this time, you can not only look forward to cool bonuses in Pokémon GO, but also secure one or another strong Pokémon for raids or use in the GO Battle League.
We will show you 7 Pokémon below that are particularly worth it and that you should secure. The order of our ranking is based on their location in the game.
1. Machollo
Why is it worth it? Machollo is a fighting Pokémon from the first generation of games, which has a strong evolution in Machomei. Due to its high attack value, it can especially convince in raids and should not be missing in any team. With a moveset of Counter and Dynamic Punch, it ranks among the best fighting attackers in Pokémon GO.
And in the Super League of PvP battles, it is also a solid choice, ranking 35th in the PvPoke ranking with a moveset of Counter, Cross Chop, and Stone Edge.
Where can it be found? You can find Machollo during the World Championship event exclusively in the wild.

2. Meditie
Why is it worth it? The fighting and psychic Pokémon Meditie can also score with a good evolution. This one, however, particularly excels with solid defense and is therefore especially suitable for use in the Super League. With a moveset of Counter, Ice Punch, and Psychic, it secures the 7th place in the PvPoke rankings.
Where can it be found? Meditie spawns in the wild throughout the entire event.
Is there a Shiny Meditie? Yes, Meditie can be caught in its shiny form. In this form, it is pink.
3. Rotomurf
Why is it worth it? If you’re looking for a strong candidate for raids, you should secure Rotomurf in the coming days. Stalobor, its evolution, can score twice. It stands out due to its high attack and stamina values as one of the best ground and steel attackers.
Here, use attack combinations of Mud Shot and Drill Run as well as Metal Claw and Iron Head. However, Stalobor is not among the leading positions in the GO Battle League, so other monsters are rather advisable here.
Where can it be found? Rotomurf can be found in the wild in the coming days.
Is there a Shiny Rotomurf? Yes, it has purple stripes on its body and a blue nose.
4. Seemops
Why is it worth it? Seemops is an ice and water Pokémon from the 3rd generation of games, which can evolve into Walraisa via Seejong. Walraisa has particularly solid stamina, but can also shine with its attack and defense values.
It can convince in the GO Battle League with a moveset of Powder Snow, Ice Spear, and Earthquake, thus securing the 36th place in the Super League and the 18th place in the Hyper League of the PvPoke rankings. It can additionally learn Powder Snow and Ice Spear during its evolution at the event.
Where can it be found? Seemops also spawns in the wild but can also be found in field research tasks.
Is there a Shiny Seemops? Yes, the shiny Seemops can be recognized by its purple body.
5. Galar-Flunschlik
Why is it worth it? Another strong candidate for the GO Battle League is Galar-Flunschlik. The Pokémon also impresses with high stamina and solid defense. It can particularly score in the Super League (3rd place) but also looks good in the Hyper League (29th place). Use a moveset of Mud Shot, Stone Edge, and Earthquake here.
Where can it be found? Galar-Flunschlik appears during the event in level 3 raids.
Is there a Shiny Galar-Flunschlik? Yes, with a bit of luck you might encounter a shiny Galar-Flunschlik. This one has a brown body and yellow spots.
6. Cresselia
Why is it worth it? The legendary Pokémon Cresselia has been available in the game for a few days now and will dominate the raids during the event. The psychic Pokémon from the 4th generation particularly excels with a high defense value and strong stamina. This makes it a perfect candidate for the GO Battle League.
Therefore, it is worth using an example with the moveset of Psycho Cut, Grass Knot, and Moonblast in the Super League or Hyper League. It can secure 20th and 3rd place according to PvPoke.

Is there a Shiny Cresselia? Yes, Cresselia can be caught as Shiny. It has yellow-green wings.
7. Garados
Why is it worth it? A true multi-talent is Garados. The flying and water Pokémon has a high attack value but can also score in defense and stamina. It is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. It is best to use a moveset of Waterfall and Hydro Pump.
Its temporary mega evolution is even stronger and can score additional points in battle with its attack bonus. But Garados can also be useful in the master league of the GO Battle League. With a moveset of Fire Fang, Aqua Tail, and Bite, it secures 29th place in the PvPoke ranking.
Where can it be found? You currently get Garados after the Mega Raids against its Mega Evolution. Here you can also secure the corresponding Mega Energy for it. Additionally, you can find Karpador, the pre-evolution of Garados, in field research.
