The Halloween event in Pokémon GO is in full swing, and there are several Pokémon to hunt that are not often available. But which monsters are truly useful?
This is the Halloween event: It runs until November 1 at 10 PM, so next Friday, the Halloween event. Until then, Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild.
Additionally, there are double candies, special quests, and spooky raid bosses.
However, it can be hard to keep track of all the event spawns and know which Pokémon are actually useful in battle.
These 5 Pokémon are worth it in the Halloween event
Here, we mainly show Pokémon that become strong in battle. However, there are also monsters that will be rare or unavailable outside of the event.
Litwick: We start off with the most interesting Pokémon of the event. Litwick has been incredibly rare until now, and during the event, it can be found occasionally. Those who play diligently can at least gather enough candies for its evolution.
Litwick evolves into Chandelure, making it one of the best Ghost attackers in the game. It deals similar damage to Gengar but can take more damage from opponents. It is also useful as a Fire attacker, dealing even more damage than Moltres.
Gastly: The Ghost Pokémon from Generation 1 is still quite strong in the 3rd year of the game. It can be Shiny, and its final evolution, Gengar, is incredibly useful.
Gengar deals the most damage among Ghosts and is very easy to obtain thanks to the event. Additionally, Gengar is often needed in raids as Psychic bosses are weak against Ghost Pokémon.
Darkrai: With the end of the Halloween event, Darkrai will also disappear. This is unfortunate as it is the best Dark attacker in the game and is likely to see use in various raids.
Darkrai has two major advantages. It deals by far the most damage among Dark attackers and also learns Shadow Ball, allowing it to be used as a Ghost attacker.
Sneasel: Another good Dark attacker is Sneasel or its evolution Weavile. It currently deals the second most damage after Darkrai. Additionally, it is also quite useful as an Ice Pokémon.
Sneasel can also be Shiny, with an increased chance of about 1 in 50 to 1 in 150. Thus, it belongs to one of the few Pokémon that have this Shiny chance. Normally, the rate is 1 in 450.
Pikachu in Costume: Pikachu is not very useful in battle, but the costume makes the Pokémon special. You will not see this costume again for a while after the Halloween event.
So, anyone who catches a Shiny from this will have a pretty rare specimen. After all, it is only available during the 2 event weeks. The same applies to the 3 starters in raids. Having these as Shiny will be even rarer, as there are simply fewer chances to get them.
After the Halloween event, you have the chance to get Regigigas. We will tell you how strong it will be:
