The Pokémon GO Fest 2022 not only brings wild spawns but also different raids on both event days. Which ones are particularly worth it?
What role do raids play at GO Fest 2022? Basically, there is a new monster pool for the raids on the GO Fest weekend on June 4th and 5th. You will encounter a few monsters that are otherwise not available.
The interesting thing is: You can also challenge these monsters even without a GO Fest ticket. At the same time, with the GO Fest ticket, you get up to 9 raid passes on Saturday and Sunday when you spin gyms. Then raiding is definitely worth it.
You can find all the differences between “with ticket” and “without ticket” here.
What raids are available? Here we show you the complete list of raids available over the weekend and then take a closer look at 5 monsters that are really worth it.

Which 5 raids are really worth it?
Here we look at raids where your raid passes are well spent.
Milza
This is what makes Milza special: The little dragon has been one of the most sought-after Pokémon in the game over the past few months, as Milza has been extremely hard to obtain. With the 1-star raids, Milza is now really easy to get for the first time – although you still have to find them, of course. You can also get its shiny form with a bit of luck.
By the way: On Saturday, the monster is also supposed to spawn in the wild during the GO Fest 2022 when the habitat for the plain is active.
However, Milza is particularly exciting not only because of its rarity. Its final evolution, Maxax, is among the best dragon attackers overall and is only surpassed by a few monsters in this category – including the next one on this list.
Brutalanda
This is what makes Brutalanda special: Brutalanda is listed above Maxax among dragon attackers and is definitely worth a raid if you still need a good specimen. Additionally, you can also get a lot of candies from the raid if you already have a good Brutalanda.
For those who have missed this monster so far, the raid is definitely worthwhile. A small downside: You cannot obtain the shiny variant in the raid.
Kyogre
This is what makes Kyogre special: The legendary water Pokémon is one of the absolute best water attackers in Pokémon GO and thus one of the best monsters at GO Fest.
When it comes to Kyogre, your raid passes are never wasted – unless you already have perfect specimens of the powerful water monster. But even then, you can still hunt for the shiny variant, which is available in raids.
However, keep in mind that this is a T5 raid. You will need a few people to take it down. You can find the best counters against Kyogre here.
Groudon

This is what makes Groudon special: Groudon is the counterpart to Kyogre and can also boast very good stats. It is among the best attackers in the game and has a really striking shiny variant.
However, just like with Kyogre: You need a few people for Groudon. The best counters against Groudon can be found here in the guide.
The secret level 5 raid boss
What kind of boss is that? Well, that remains to be seen. So far, there has not been an official confirmation of who this boss will be.
The most likely answer is “Anego” – the first of the new Ultra Beasts that have been announced for Pokémon GO. The boss has not been confirmed yet.
But whoever it will be, it is likely to be worth a raid – if only because a new Pokémon can be caught here.
What about the other raids?
This is what makes the other raids special: The remaining raids at GO Fest 2022 are not necessarily bad, but many are more situational and do not impress with super strong monsters.
Therefore, let’s take a quick look at these raids:
Costumed Pikachu: This is for collectors, but it doesn’t bring much in raids or PvP. Shiny hunters can try to catch the shiny form.
Arboretoss, Marikeck, and Miezunder: These are the second forms of the Alolan starters. All three were very easy to obtain during the Alolan season, as the starters were frequently seen in the wild.
All three are currently outclassed by other monsters in their respective types. Currently, only Marikeck with the evolution Primarene is really interesting, as it is a strong water attacker. Additionally, you cannot obtain any of these three as shiny.
Wuffels: Cute Pokémon that evolves into a cool Pokémon, but is currently not particularly interesting in raids or PvP. The shiny form can be caught – which may be an incentive.
Shardrago: Is rather useless in raids and only fills niche roles in PvP. However, it has a shiny form that can be caught.
Relaxo: Is a popular gym defender and has its uses in PvP – but is not particularly good in raids. You can also catch its shiny form with some luck. It is only included in this part of the list because it is now quite old, and many may already have it. If you are still missing one: Go find it.
