It has now been a year since the first Pokémon from Generation 5 arrived in Pokémon GO. However, there are still missing monsters, and some of them are really strong.
This is shown in the list: Every now and then, Pokémon GO releases new Pokémon from Gen 5. In total, there are still about 50 monsters missing from Gen 3 to Gen 5 in Pokémon GO. Most of them come from the Unova region. Some of them can even be really strong.
Some of the Pokémon on this list already exist in Pokémon GO, but in a different form.
The best missing Pokémon from Gen 5
Somnivora: This Psychic-type Pokémon is likely to be especially interesting as a gym defender. It has a HP value of 253 and is therefore difficult to defeat. Additionally, it has moves that effectively hit Fighting attackers.
You can position Somnivora perfectly among all the Normal-type Pokémon, like Heiteira or Snorlax. Opponents ideally use Fighting attackers, and you can then effectively counter them with your Psychic moves.
Meloetta: This is a mysterious Pokémon that has 2 forms:
- Dance form (Normal and Fighting)
- Singing form (Normal and Psychic)
Depending on the form, Meloetta is a solid attacker of Fighting or Psychic type. It is not the absolute top attacker in either case, but a strong alternative that you should definitely secure.
As Meloetta is a mysterious Pokémon, its introduction could be somewhat more difficult. A special research task or an EX raid would be conceivable.
Ramoth: This Pokémon is eagerly awaited by many trainers because it will become a really strong Bug and Fire attacker.
Currently, there is no truly strong monster among Bug-type Pokémon, and Ramoth easily surpasses candidates like Pinsir or Scyther.
Additionally, its strength as a Fire attacker makes Ramoth significantly more versatile and useful. You should definitely secure a Ramoth when it comes to the game.
Therian Form of Thundurus: In Pokémon GO, so far, you could only catch the Incarnate Form of Thundurus. This form is already solid, but the Therian form puts it in the shade.
This form has a significantly better attack value and will easily become the best attacker of Ground type. You will probably obtain this legendary Pokémon, like the Incarnate Form, only through raids.
By the way: The other two Therian forms, that is, from Tornadus and Landorus, are also strong. You should secure them at the release, but Thundurus is the best choice among the 3 monsters.
Black/White Kyurem: The regular Kyurem was already available through raids in Pokémon GO. However, it has two other forms that are significantly more powerful: Black and White Kyurem.
Both Pokémon have an attack value of 310 and incredibly strong Dragon attacks. The two forms are quite similar in attack, making both worthwhile.
You will thus get two really strong all-rounders and significantly better Dragon attackers than Rayquaza has ever been.
It is quite conceivable that the two forms will be unlocked through raids, just like the regular Kyurem.
