In September, there are a lot of events and content planned for Pokémon GO. We at MeinMMO present you 5 highlights that you should not miss in the coming weeks and explain why they are worth it.
What content is involved? September has just started, and that means a series of new events, raid bosses, spawns, and bonuses in Pokémon GO. In addition, the start of the new season Rich Adventures
brings more interesting content.
However, you should keep track of certain dates in the coming weeks, as it may pay off for you. We have summarized the highlights that September has in store for you below. The order is chronological.
1. Raids with Katagami and Kaguron
Why is it worth it? In September, you can encounter the two Ultra Beasts Katagami and Kaguron in Pokémon GO again. They were already available to catch last year and caused long queues at the raids.
Both monsters can only be caught regionally. Katagami will spawn in the northern hemisphere and Kaguron in the southern hemisphere. Unlike last time, the two beasts will swap regions this time. This is the perfect opportunity to secure an specimen if you haven’t done so last time.
Additionally, Katagami has a high attack value and also possesses solid stamina and defense. It is excellent for use and currently secures the first place among the best grass attackers in Pokémon GO with a moveset consisting of Leaf Blade and Leaf Storm.
When do the raids take place? The two Ultra Beasts have been available in raids since September 1st and will dominate these until September 16th at 10:00 AM local time. Note that Katagami will spawn in the northern hemisphere until September 8th. Then the switch will happen, and for the remaining time, you can find Kaguron here. Alternatively, both can also be encountered via remote raids. On September 6th and September 13th, corresponding raid hours will also be held.
You can find the best counters against Katagami and Kaguron here:
2. Timed Research: Master Ball
Why is it worth it? With the start of the new season Rich Adventures
, a timed research has also been unlocked for you, which you can complete in September and beyond. This rewards you not only with an incredible amount of XP but also a second Master Ball.
This is one of the most valuable items in the game, as the ball guarantees to catch any monster. It is particularly useful for Pokémon that are otherwise hard to catch. However, this item is also correspondingly rare, which means its use must be well thought out. If you want to secure the ball, you should not miss the research.
You can find it in the “Today” section of your game. Since it is a bit more challenging than other tasks, you should start solving it soon.
Here we show you all tasks and rewards of the timed research.
How long is the research available? You can find the research since September 1st in your game. It will be active until November 21, 2023, at 8:00 PM. Players who do not complete it on time can still purchase the quest afterward to get the ball.
3. Showcases
Why is it worth it? A popular feature in recent weeks has also been the so-called Showcase. In this, you can have selected monsters compete at PokéStops at certain times in a kind of competition. You can compare your specimens to others based on their size, and there are naturally corresponding rewards.
In September, there will again be a number of these competitions. If you do not want to miss out on the rewards or simply enjoy the new feature, you should definitely keep track of the dates for it in September.

4. Hyperbonus Events for the Paldea Region
Why is it worth it? For GO Fest 2023, you could once again achieve a Hyperbonus. You did this, unlocking the two events Paldea Adventure
and Hyperbonus: Paldea
. In both events, you can finally encounter monsters from the Paldea region.
In addition to the starter Pokémon Felori, Krokel, and Kwaks, you will encounter other cute monsters at both events, such as Ferkuli, Micrick, Pamo, Adebom, or Frospino. Many trainers are looking forward to Frospino, because its evolution Espinodon is expected to feature a strong moveset and high stats, making it one of the best attackers.
So if you don’t want to miss out on the new monsters and hope for a strong attacker, you should not miss these two events. Ferkuli and Adebom also provide shiny hunters a chance.
When can you get the Paldea Pokémon? The Paldea Adventure event starts on September 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM and runs until September 10 at 8:00 PM. With a few hours overlap, the more interesting Paldea event will start on September 10 at 10:00 AM local time and run until September 15 at 8:00 PM.
A first glimpse of the new monsters is shown in the following video:
5. Community Day in September
Why is it worth it? During Community Day, a specific monster is always highlighted, spawning in the wild during this time and having a higher shiny rate. For this reason, this event is generally very popular among trainers.
The monster and bonuses for the Community Day in September are not officially confirmed yet, but according to the event overview from Pokémon GO, Showcases will feature Mabula and its evolution Donarion on that day. This strongly indicates that you will encounter Mabula on the Community Day in September.
And it is worth it not just because the Pokémon will likely be catchable in its shiny form for the first time. Its evolution Donarion can also impress with a strong attack value, making it one of the best bug attackers in the game.
When is the Community Day? The Community Day will run on September 23, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
