9 new Field Research tasks for Adventure Week
As you may know from other events, you can again look forward to special event Field Research tasks during the Adventure Week. You can obtain these normally by spinning at the PokéStop. The respective task will then be listed in the “Field” view of your game.
Since the focus of the Adventure Week is on exploring the surroundings, you can also find thematically appropriate tasks within the 9 event quests:

| Catch 15 Pokémon of Rock type | Encounter with Amonitas* or Kabuto* |
| Spin 15 PokéStops or Gyms | Encounter with Liliep* or Anorith* |
| Spin 25 PokéStops or Gyms | Encounter with Amarino or Balgoras |
| Spin 2 PokéStops, that you haven’t visited yet | Encounter with Koknodon* or Schilterus* |
| Hatch 2 Eggs | Encounter with Aerodactyl* |

How long do you have to complete them? As you are used to from regular Field Research, you have unlimited time to complete these tasks.
All tasks and rewards for Adventure Research
In addition to the new event Field Research tasks, Niantic has also provided you with an Adventure Research in the “Today” view. This is time-limited and can only be completed during the event period. Once again, everything revolves around the theme of “exploring”:
| Task | Reward |
| Walk 5 km | 1x Incubator |
| Walk 10 km | 1x Incubator |
| Walk 25 km | 1x Incubator |
| Spin 50 PokéStops or Gyms | Encounter with Balgoras |
| Earn 5 candies by exploring with your buddy | Encounter with Amarino |
Stage reward: After completing all 5 tasks, you will additionally receive 5,000 XP, 2,500 Stardust, and 3 Rare Candies.
Which researches are particularly worthwhile?
In the new Field Research tasks for Adventure Week, you can find four interesting Pokémon. For this reason, you should look out for the following researches:
Spin 25 PokéStops or Gyms: In this task, you can encounter the two Pokémon Amarino and Balgoras. They are available for the first time in Pokémon GO and can only hatch from 7 km eggs or be found in Field Research.
On June 12th, they will finally receive a mini-event where they will spawn temporarily in the wild. If you can’t wait that long or want an extra specimen or two, you should take the chance using the Field Research.
The task is easy to complete and therefore relatively quick to finish, so this should not be a problem for you.
Walk 5 km: You can also encounter Amarino and Balgoras in this quest. Unlike the task to spin 25 PokéStops or Gyms, completing this task takes a bit more time. However, for players who will be out and about a lot in the coming days, this should not be a problem.
Hatch 4 Eggs: Behind this task are the two Pokémon Galapaflos and Flapteryx. Although they have been in the game for a while, the two Pokémon were recently desperately sought by some trainers.
Now you can meet them in Field Research or hatch them from 7 km eggs. Unlike Amarino and Balgoras, Galapaflos and Flapteryx can, with some luck, be obtained in their shiny forms as well. This should be especially interesting for shiny hunters.
Due to the halved hatch distance when hatching eggs, you can also complete this task relatively easily. You will receive a supply of incubators from the time-limited Adventure Research that we presented above in the article.

Earn 3 candies by exploring with your buddy: You get another chance to encounter Galapaflos and Flapteryx through the task of earning 3 candies with your buddy. Depending on the Pokémon, completing this task may take varying amounts of time as each monster must walk different distances to earn a candy.
In this case, it can be helpful to check your buddy history to see if there’s a monster that just needs a few more meters to reach the next candy. If you don’t have any such monster on your list, go for creatures like Rattata, Caterpie, or Pidgey, which only need to walk one kilometer per candy.
Here we explain how to play with your buddy.
