In October, you can expect 4 legendary raid bosses in Pokémon GO. Among them is a special opponent that is supposed to appear around Halloween. We will reveal to you which bosses they are and whether they are worth your time.

Zapdos – A solid Electric Pokémon
How long will Zapdos stay? Zapdos kicks off the legendary Pokémon in October. It will appear on September 25 at 10:00 PM our time and will stay for a week, until October 2 at 10:00 PM.
Is Zapdos worth it? Zapdos is a solid Electric attacker. There are better alternatives like Raikou, Zekrom, and Electivire, but if you like variety, you can also go for Zapdos.
Additionally, you can also obtain Zapdos as a Shiny, which is worthwhile for collectors.
Lavados – The second legendary bird
How long will Lavados stay? The second legendary Pokémon appears immediately after Zapdos, on October 2 at 10:00 PM. Lavados will also stay for exactly one week, until October 9 at 10:00 PM.
Is Lavados worth it? Lavados is among the top 5 Fire attackers in the game. Although there are better ones, it is particularly worthwhile with Fire Spin and Overheat.
You can also get Lavados as a Shiny – so it is additionally interesting for Shiny hunters.
Giratina – The highlight in October
How long will Giratina stay? Giratina appears in its Altered Form on October 9 at 10:00 PM and will remain until October 23 at 10:00 PM. This gives you a full two weeks to catch the legendary Pokémon.
Is Giratina worth it? Giratina is the highlight of the raid bosses in October. It is the best Ghost attacker in the game and ranks at the top of the hyper league tier list. Moreover, it can be caught as a Shiny for the first time.
If you want to complete your collection, you should definitely take advantage of the two weeks.
A special boss for Halloween
What do we know about the Halloween boss? So far, Niantic has been tight-lipped about details regarding this opponent. It is expected to be introduced on October 23 at 10:00 PM, immediately after Giratina. How long it stays is not yet known. Neither is the identity of the Pokémon that will come.
However, in recent years, there have always been real highlights for Halloween. In 2019, it was the Pokémon Darkrai, the best Dark attacker in the game. It is possible that Darkrai returns, but another Pokémon might take its place. As soon as there are new updates, we will add them here.
