In Pokémon GO the Catching Art event is on the horizon. When it is and what to expect can be found here.
When will the event take place? The Catching Art event will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10 AM to 8 PM. The focus of the event will be Ice Pokémon and your accuracy with Poké Balls. This could be a good addition if you are out and about to exchange gifts with Mateo.
What will be at the event? In addition to a free and a paid limited research, there will also be corresponding field research tasks, event bonuses, and additional wild Pokémon.
Which Pokémon can be caught during the event? In the wild, you can frequently encounter Schneppke and Arktip. If you complete all 10 research lines of the limited research, you can expect 40 Frigometri. This also applies to the paid limited research. Here, too, there are a total of 40 Frigometri as a reward.
You can also encounter Frigometri for completing field research. This research will primarily focus on your accuracy with Poké Balls.

What bonuses are there during the event? The first bonus of the event relates to catching Pokémon. You will earn double experience points for good, great, and fabulous throws.
The second bonus relates to the 3 Pokémon that are in focus during the event. All 3 of them will have an increased chance to appear as shiny.
So you have a better chance of finding the following shinies:
- Schneppke
- Arktip
- Frigometri
For whom is the event worthwhile? This event will be especially worthwhile for you if you are actively leveling up, as the bonus for catching Pokémon can give you a decent boost. Also, if you are focused on collecting shinies, this event could be beneficial for you, as you will benefit from an increased chance with 3 different Pokémon.
