In Pokémon GO the Spring Event starts today and brings you new quests and a new Collector Challenge. We at MeinMMO have taken a look at which tasks you can find in the game and which rewards are particularly worthwhile for you.
What tasks are involved? In Pokémon GO, around Easter there is a Spring Event under the name “Hop into Spring”. There will also be special field research tasks at PokéStops again. In addition, Niantic will unlock an additional Collector Challenge for you, which will bring you more rewards.
When does the Spring Event take place? The Spring Event runs from April 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM until April 18, 2022 at 8:00 PM local time.
Here are the 3 new quests for the Spring Event
As you know from other events, there will also be thematically appropriate research tasks for the Spring Event. In total, Niantic has provided you with 3 new quests.
How can you get the new quest? You can find the event research, as usual, by spinning the photo discs at PokéStops. Once you have spun the research, you can find it in the “Field” view in the game, which you can access by clicking on the binoculars.
The tasks are available at the stops throughout the entire event period. You have unlimited time to complete the tasks.
With the help of LeekDuck’s overview, we have summarized all tasks and rewards for you below (via leekduck.com). All monsters that you can also encounter in their shiny form are marked with a star (*).
| Task | Reward |
| Hatch an egg | Encounter with Pikachu (Flower Crown)* Eevee (Flower Crown)* |
| Hatch 2 eggs | Encounter with Hapipor (Flower Crown)* |
| Hatch 4 eggs | Encounter with Chansey (Flower Crown)* |
The Collector Challenge for the Spring Event
In addition to the new field research tasks, you can also find a Collector Challenge in Pokémon GO during the Spring Event. This will be displayed to you in the “Today” view and will be available to all players with the start of the event.
As you know from other Collector Challenges, you should also catch various monsters for this one. You need to look out for the following Pokémon to complete the task:
- Scoppel
- Nidoran female
- Nidoran male
- Pummeluff
- Flurmel
- Pikachu with Flower Crown
- Eevee with Flower Crown
- Hapipor with Flower Crown
- Chansey with Flower Crown
Reward: If you have caught each of the mentioned Pokémon at least once, you will receive 2,000 experience points (XP), 2,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Togetic with Flower Crown* as a reward. In addition, you will receive a Collector Medal.
How long can you complete the task? The task will be available to you until the end of the Spring Event on April 18 at 8:00 PM local time. Until then, you can complete it and collect your rewards. Please note that your rewards will also expire after the end of the event if you do not claim them in time.
Which tasks are particularly worthwhile?
The tasks related to the new field research, as well as the Collector Challenge, should be relatively easy to complete during the event. According to Niantic, all mentioned Pokémon are supposed to spawn in the wild (via pokemongolive.com).
And the hatch distance has also been halved for quicker hatching. But which monster is particularly worthwhile? We will show you:
Togetic: The most worthwhile Pokémon is the Fairy and Flying-type Togetic from Generation 2. The monster will be found in the game for the first time with a Flower Crown, and additionally, with a bit of luck, you will even get it in its shiny form.
If you evolve Togetic into Togekiss, you will also benefit from one of the best Fairy attackers in Pokémon GO. Togekiss can shine in raids with solid stats and a strong moveset consisting of Charm and Dazzling Gleam.
And in the Master League, it is also among the top with its attacks Charm, Ancient Power, and Flamethrower (via pvpoke.com). You can also find Togetic in the wild during the event with a bit of luck. The Collector Challenge thus offers you another chance to secure a strong specimen.
Chansey: A Pokémon that you can find in the field research tasks is Chansey. The Normal-type Pokémon originates from Generation 1 and will also be found during the event with a Flower Crown. Just like Togetic, it will, however, spawn very rarely in the wild.
Even though Chansey is not particularly strong in attack and thus plays no significant role in raids or the GO Battle League, you should secure this monster. It can score points with enormous stamina, making it one of the best arena defenders in Pokémon GO.
Its evolution, Blissey, is even better. So if you’re still looking for a strong defender for your arenas, you should consider Chansey. With a bit of luck, you might even get a shiny specimen.
Are the other Pokémon worthwhile?
Also, the other monsters are certainly not uninteresting for some players. For example, the costumed Eevee is especially worthwhile due to its numerous evolutions. And anyone who wants a costumed Lopunny in their Pokédex should secure Haspiror with a Flower Crown.
This will also be the first time with a Flower Crown in the game. However, you can also catch the costumed Pikachu, Eevee, and Haspiror more frequently in the wild.
What do you think of the research for the Spring Event? Which monster do you definitely want to secure from it? Or do you find all the rewards rather boring? Let us know in the comments.
With the start of the Spring Event, there will also be another research series in Pokémon GO for you. We will show you all tasks and rewards for the special research “Ula-Ula Adventure”.
