In Pokémon GO two new shinies will soon be available to catch: Shiny Tragosso and Shiny Ponita are on their way to you.
The two shiny forms will be released alongside “Ingress Prime”, another game from Niantic. Ingress Prime is a spin-off of the Ingress game, which was released by Niantic before Pokémon GO. So far, Ingress has been known among Pokémon players for having portals that became PokéStops in Pokémon GO.
In a statement, Niantic explained that this release is also significant for Pokémon GO. There will be a small event to celebrate the release of Ingress Prime.
Shiny Ponita and Shiny Tragosso in Pokémon GO
The new shiny Pokémon Ponita and Tragosso will soon be available to catch worldwide along with their evolutions.
This is what distinguishes the shiny forms: Ponita and Galoppa will have a blue fire tail in their shiny form. Tragosso and Knogga will have a green body in their shiny form.
That’s why the new shinies fit: Tragosso and Ponita were chosen as perfect Pokémon for the release. Their shiny versions are green and blue, matching the team colors that can be chosen in Ingress Prime.
New clothing items: In addition to the new shiny Pokémon, there will also be new clothing items available in the shop. The clothing is supposed to be free for every player. It is also themed around Ingress Prime to support the game, according to Niantic.
When will the new shinies come? A date for the event featuring the shiny Pokémon is not yet known. However, it can be assumed that the event will start soon, as Ingress Prime has already been released.
Update: November 5, 10:20 PM – Trainers report that the shinies are now activated, and the spawns of Ponita and Tragosso have increased.
Shiny Alolan Knogga: This is the first time a shiny Alolan Pokémon can be caught. Players have the chance to get a shiny Alolan Knogga in Level 4 raids.
It is not known whether there are additional bonuses besides the shiny Pokémon.
