What is the event about? After this year’s GO Fest was celebrated especially grandly, the developers of Pokémon GO want to end it properly with a closing festival. So you can look forward to lots of content for the big GO Fest finale.
There will also be a rare specimen that you definitely shouldn’t miss.
When does the event take place? The closing event will take place on August 27, 2022, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM local time. Basically, anyone can participate, but there are also some contents reserved exclusively for ticket holders.

How to find the Pokémon? During the closing event for GO Fest 2022, you will encounter numerous Pokémon both in the wild and in raids. Additionally, some interesting Pokémon can be found in the exclusive incense for ticket holders.
For this reason, you should definitely secure some rare specimens. We have summarized which ones below. The order is based on the chronological sequence of the event. We also tell you for each Pokémon whether it is only available exclusively for ticket holders or if anyone can catch it.
1. Pikachu with Shaymin Scarf
Why is this Pokémon worth it? Although Pikachu is usually not particularly rare in Pokémon GO, it is worth taking the electric mouse with you during the closing event. This is mainly due to its unique costume.
Pikachu is dressed appropriately and wears a Shaymin scarf for the first time during the entire event. In this costume, it can also be caught in its shiny form, making it a very special specimen.
Just like with most other costumes of Pikachu, it is unclear whether it will be catchable in this form again in the future. This makes it particularly valuable for collectors.
How can you secure it for the closing event? The costumed Pikachu will likely encounter you more frequently during the closing event, as it spawns across all habitats and is obtainable regardless of ticket purchase.
If the specimens in the wild are not enough for you, you can also try your shiny luck in the level-1 raids. There, Pikachu with Shaymin scarf will also be available.
Can you catch a costumed shiny Pikachu? Yes, with some luck you will encounter Pikachu in its shiny form. This version has a slightly darker body than the normal variant.
