6. Pygraulon
What kind of Pokémon is this? Pygraulon is a Psychic Pokémon from the 5th generation, which can evolve into Megalon with the help of 50 candies.
Why is Pygraulon worth it? Pygraulon celebrates its Shiny debut in Pokémon GO during the Psychic Spectacle. This means you can catch it for the first time in its shiny form in the game. Keep an eye out for the typical pink eyes of the Shiny.
Otherwise, Pygraulon and its evolution Megalon are not particularly strong, making them relatively uninteresting for use in raids and in the GO Battle League.
Where can you find it during the event? Pygraulon spawns in the wild during the Psychic Spectacle. You can also find it in the rewards of the limited research and in the event field research.
7. Psiau
What kind of Pokémon is this? The Psychic Pokémon Psiau from the 6th generation can evolve into Psiaugon (male or female form).
Why is Psiau worth it? Psiau and its evolutions do not particularly impress with their stats in attack, stamina, and defense. Therefore, Psiau is mainly interesting because of its Shiny.
The Shiny has been in the game for some time, but you cannot find Psiau very often. Except for the breakthrough research in February, this Psychic Pokémon mainly hatches from 10 km eggs. Occasionally, you can also find it in Level 1 raids.
This makes the Shiny relatively rare, so you should definitely take your chance during the Psychic Spectacle if you still need the shiny variant.
Where can you find it during the event? Psiau can be found during the Psychic Spectacle in Level 1 raids.
8. Somniam
What kind of Pokémon is this? Somniam is a Psychic Pokémon from the 5th generation. The small pink monster can evolve into Somnivora with the help of 50 candies and an Unova Stone.
Why is Somniam worth it? Somniam has only existed in its Shiny form in the game since the big GO Fest Finale on August 27, 2022. Therefore, the Psychic Spectacle offers another opportunity for all Shiny hunters to encounter a specimen. You can recognize the shiny Pokémon by its yellow body and green flowers.
However, Somniam is not the right candidate for raids and PvP battles. Even its evolution does not impress in this regard.
Where can you find it during the event? Somniam will be found in the wild during the Psychic event. Additionally, on September 6, from 18:00 to 19:00, there will be a spotlight hour featuring Somniam and a stardust bonus.
9. Isso
What kind of Pokémon is this? Isso is a Psychic Pokémon from the 3rd generation. It evolves into Woobat.
Why is Isso worth it? The baby Pokémon is primarily attractive because it is relatively rare. It only spawns occasionally from eggs and is otherwise not found in the game. Thus, the Psychic Spectacle is a good opportunity to secure the corresponding Pokédex entry.
During the event, you can only hatch it, which means you cannot specifically catch the monster and are thus dependent on chance. However, the 7 km eggs only contain two other Pokémon, so your chances are good of receiving an Isso.
Furthermore, with a bit of luck, you might even encounter a Shiny version, recognizable by its purple body. If you evolve Isso into Woobat, it can also be an option for the Super League.
Where can you find it during the event? Isso hides in the 7 km eggs that you receive from your friends’ gifts during the event period. If you collect these now and hatch them after the event, Isso can still hatch from them at a later date.
10. Kussilla
What kind of Pokémon is this? Another baby Pokémon for the Psychic Spectacle is Kussilla. The little monster from the 2nd generation is an Ice and Psychic type Pokémon. It evolves into Roselia.
Why is Kussilla worth it? Just like Isso, Kussilla is one of the Pokémon that you can only find occasionally in the game. So if you are missing an entry in your Pokédex, you should try to catch Kussilla. With a bit of luck, you might even find a Shiny version.
If you evolve Kussilla into Roselia, you can additionally secure one of the best Ice attackers in Pokémon GO.
Where can you find it during the event? Kussilla hatches from the 7 km eggs that you receive from your friends during the Psychic Spectacle.
Are there more rare monsters during the Psychic Spectacle?
In addition to the aforementioned Pokémon, the following rare monsters will also be found during the event:
- Unown E – in Level 1 raids
- Unown P – in Level 1 raids
- Unown S – in Level 1 raids
- Clingling – hatches from 7 km eggs
Why are these Pokémon not in the ranking? Unown and Clingling may be relatively rare in the game, so catching them is generally worthwhile. However, these Pokémon cannot be found in their Shiny form during the event according to Niantic (pokemongolive.com).
This makes catching them unattractive for Shiny hunters. Moreover, these Pokémon are not particularly strong, and thus have no purpose in the GO Battle League or raids. So if you’re not trying to secure an entry in your Pokédex because you don’t have these monsters yet, you might want to save your raid passes for something else, especially with Unown.
