Playstation VR, Sony’s competitor to the Oculus Rift, will be released on October 13th and various games will also be available at launch. Eight of them are even included on a demo disc in the package. Here is the list of games.
What good is a fancy new VR headset if there are no games for it? Sony thought about that too, which is why a whole bunch of games that support the new technology will launch with the Playstation VR on October 13th.
Eight Titles to Try Out
The following eight titles will also come with a demo disc at the launch of the headset. The full versions are either already available at launch or will be coming soon.
EVE: Valkyrie – Intense Space Battles and Virtual Gender Transformation
The flagship VR game EVE: Valkyrie must not be missing on the Playstation VR, and therefore the space shooter in the EVE universe is of course on the demo disc. In EVE: Valkyrie, we pilot a space fighter in extremely intense space battles, optionally with virtual breasts, when we create a female avatar.
Driveclub VR – Just Like the Real Car!
For those who prefer good old cars rather than spaceships, you can jump behind a virtual steering wheel in Driveclub VR and race in extremely intense races. Just be careful not to fall off your chair in tight turns!
Battlezone – Full of Retro Charm
Battlezone proves that modern technology fits wonderfully with nostalgia. The game with virtual future tanks is based on the original from the 80s and impresses with a crazy look in neon colors.
Hustle Kings VR Pool for the Living Room
If you don’t always want to go to shabby and smoky bars to play pool and also don’t want to risk someone hitting you over the head with a beer bottle or a stick, you can also have realistic pool fun at home with this game.
Playstation VR Worlds – The Demo Package
This is a complete package of five small VR games. Included are the gangster shooter London Heist, the diving simulator Ocean Descent, the space treasure hunt Scavenger Odyssey, the racing game VR Luge, and the sci-fi sports game Danger Ball.
RIGS: Mechanized Combat League – The Mech Sports Shooting
This game offers us big mechs, crazy arenas, and plenty of shooting. It presents itself as a sports spectacle of the future. Sounds cool!
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – Jump Scares Galore!
Few genres fit VR better than horror games. Therefore, the zombie slaughter Until Dawn must not be missing on the PSVR. But beware, if you are too easily frightened, you should think carefully about this game beforehand.
Super Stardust Ultra VR – The Classic
This space shooting game has existed for ages in various versions, and therefore an extra immense version on the Playstation VR cannot be missed.
Loading Human Chapter 1 – The VR Adventure
In this adventure game, we are searching for a mysterious energy source. The special feature of this game is that it will be released in episodes, allowing us to gradually dive deeper into the story.
Horror and the Virtual Sports Bar – More to Come
In addition to the eight demo titles, information will gradually be released about additional launch titles of the Playstation VR. One of them is called SportsBarVR and is exactly that. A virtual sports pub where you can hang out comfortably. Although a VR beer doesn’t really taste like anything, that can be compensated with a real brew prepared at the same time. More importantly, the VR bar provides a virtual meeting place for players and numerous bar games like darts, pool, air hockey, chess, and shuffleboard. Plus, we can have virtual fights! Ideal if you want to avoid real pubs but still enjoy the atmosphere at home.
