What is the PTR? New World offers you the opportunity to try out new features and content earlier than other players with the Public Test Realm (PTR). You can create your characters there with appropriate equipment and level.
Starting from November 10, the PTR for New World will begin. We will show you what you can do there and how to download the PTR.

Download of the PTR client: Anyone who owns a copy of New World can find the application “New World Public Test Realm” in their Steam library at the start of the PTR servers. Once you download the client, you can play the latest preview version of the next patch for New World.
Keep in mind that this is a standalone client that will also require space on your hard drive. Access to the PTR is not guaranteed. If the capacities are full, there may be queues.
When are the servers online? The PTR servers of New World will go online for the first time on November 10 at 8:00 PM German time. You will find one world for the East Coast of the USA and for Central Europe.
The 1st major update with new weapon, quests, and enemy types will be tested there first.
After the test is complete, the servers will be down. All worlds will be shut down and deleted.
In your Steam library, you will still find the client for the PTR. However, when you start it, you will not find any worlds outside of tests, and you cannot play there.
How can I transfer my characters to the PTR? This function does not exist. You will play there with characters that you create specifically for the PTR.
For that, you will receive aids such as level-ups and special equipment.
Why play there? The goal of these test servers is to find bugs and issues before patches are installed for all players on the live servers. In the PTR forum of New World, you can report any bugs, exploits, or issues you encounter, or simply provide tips and feedback for improvement. In-game, there is also a tool that you can use to report.
Amazon emphasizes that they focus on improving quality. Thus, tracking down bugs, discovering exploits, and reporting additional gameplay issues.
I don’t feel like PTR, how do I delete it? There are some players who place a lot of value on a tidy library on Steam. If the entry for the PTR bothers you and you do not want to participate anyway, you can hide the application.
