PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will receive a new game mode where players will stumble around as zombies. The undead have no place in regular PUBG rounds and will have their own game mode.
Zombies in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds? Didn’t we have something like that before? Indeed, the battle royale game by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene had to deal with unintentional undead at the time of its release, as players were permanently trapped in a state between life and death due to a bug during revival.
However, in the latest Twitter announcement for the game, there was indeed talk of “real” zombies.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Zombie Mode Planned
According to a tweet from the developer Bluehole, the creepy undead will soon stumble through the botany in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and nibble at other players. This will be a new game mode. The regular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will remain untouched by the undead.

The zombies will be controlled by players, but how the rest of the gameplay will work has not yet been stated. It is possible that players killed by zombies will also become zombies and the undead win if they “zombify” all other players? A release date for the zombie mode is not yet known, but there are already first pictures and videos on Twitter.
Jürgen says: I can’t stand zombies and usually find “zombie game modes” annoying. Therefore, I have little interest in the new game mode in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. And apparently, many players feel similarly, as the reactions on Twitter are mostly mixed to negative.
