The console port of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One is taking shape. Now there is a first statement about it.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has only been in Early Access on Steam for a week and is already a success. The game has generated millions in revenue from sales in just a few days.
Therefore, the developers at Bluehole are likely to release the Battle Royale shooter on Xbox One and Playstation 4 relatively soon, as indicated by a recent statement.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Soon in Xbox Game Preview?
At least on Microsoft’s Xbox One, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds seems to be playable already. The website Kotaku found a statement from Bluehole employee and producer Chang-han Kim on the Korean website Inven.
In it, the producer states that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is already running on Xbox One. They aim for a release as “Game Preview” on Xbox One, which is a form of Early Access. Bluehole is currently polishing the game for the Xbox One early version.
Sony does not offer an “Early Access” program. Therefore, it is only possible to release games for “Full Release” on PS4. This is a situation that several “Early Access” phenomena have already struggled with.
Release on PS4 and Xbox One planned – Late summer 2017
When PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is finished and “fully released,” it is supposed to come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The Early Access period is planned for 6 months. Therefore, the full release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC, PS4, and Xbox One should occur in late summer 2017. It could possibly appear on Xbox One even earlier.
However, these dates depend on whether the team’s plans and intentions are fulfilled.
Some caution is advised regarding this information: The producer’s statements are in Korean. Therefore, one must rely on Google Translator.
