In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, players could claim the kill of an opponent downed by a teammate, effectively stealing the kill. A new assist feature puts an end to this.
Until now, it was common in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to only receive credit for a kill if you finished off a downed opponent. The last shot counted.
This will soon change, as a new assist feature brings more fairness to killing and slaughtering.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Assist Feature – My Kill is My Kill!
According to the developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in a livestream on Twitch, a new assist feature will put an end to kill stealing in teams. If you down an enemy player, the kill belongs to you, regardless of who finishes them off from your team. Your teammate will receive a proper assist credit, but the kill rightfully belongs to you.

Then the kill still belongs to that cunning player, and you receive the assist. The assist feature is mainly intended to prevent griefing and kill stealing within the team. So, be careful not to let another player sneakily take your valuable kill.
The assist feature was not yet active in the game at the time of this news but should be added with the next patch. Later in June, a major content update is expected, which promises the new Glock 18-C. Future updates will bring two new maps and a zombie mode.
What do you think about the new feature against kill stealing? Useful or just a gimmick, since it only applies to your own team and outside players can still grief? Let us know in the comments!
