Red Dead Online has been struggling for months. There is a drought of content, and the first update of 2022 hasn’t improved things for fans. They now want to protest and put pressure on developer Rockstar.
What’s going on in Red Dead Online? It actually started off hopeful for RDO fans with the release. Rockstar made it clear early on that there would be no expansions for the single-player mode. They wanted to focus entirely on the online mode.
It was something we already experienced with GTA 5. The catch: it didn’t happen that way. Players have been complaining for over a year about a lack of fresh content. At launch, Red Dead Online was nearly unplayable due to bugs and glitches. It took quite a while to resolve the issues, and then we received new content, updates, and DLCs that brought new jobs. In July 2021, the last DLC “Blood Money” was released.
But for over half a year, almost nothing has happened in Red Dead Online. As often happens, Rockstar prioritizes GTA Online. The 8-year-old game is still receiving significant updates.
After the last update in July 2021, RDO received its first update of 2022. However, this did not improve the mood as it did not bring new content.

What exactly is being demanded? The demands are simple: more content and a roadmap. These are the things that a large part is requesting.
This is how players want to save RDO: After the first update in 2022 turned out to be a disappointment, some loyal players felt compelled to take action. Through Reddit and Twitter, they are trying to draw attention to RDO and urge developer Rockstar to care more about the game.
For several days now, the Twitter hashtag “#SaveRedDeadOnline” (via Twitter) has been maintained by numerous fans and supporters in the gaming trends. At one point, the hashtag had over 18,000 tweets in a day. (via reddit)
Additionally, players have dressed as clowns in-game to show what they think of Rockstar’s support for RDO. Since then, a daily call has been made to follow the hashtag and keep going until Rockstar pays attention to the issue.
User 1122Sl110 writes: “It’s sad, man, it’s a masterpiece of a game, the beauty, the mechanics, the openness, but damn, the developers aren’t even trying to improve things. Everything repeats, all the missions, the tasks, the collectibles, etc.… there is just a lack of everything. And this for a game that is literally 4 years old? Despite the content drought, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still very popular on Steam. The community remains active despite everything.
