In Destiny 2 there is currently a bug that all classes can benefit from, and although it only brings advantages, Bungie lets players have fun – but not for long.
What bug is it? Just recently, at the launch of Episode: Heresy, players discovered a curious bug regarding the customized glaives. These are typically bound to the respective classes, but after the disastrous episode launch, players found that they could equip and use any glaive.
This is especially practical when Warlocks want to use the Titans’ bubbles or when Titans want to become healers. If this change were intentional, Guardians would have a more diverse way to reshape their builds to make them even more powerful. However, Bungie confirmed that this is just a bug. But where is the quick hotfix?
Any bug that is fun will be nerfed immediately
What is Bungie known for? Anything that is fun or gives players an advantage is immediately nerfed or disabled. This mainly includes exploits regarding Legendary Shards or also Exotics that are far too powerful.
With the glaives, fans already feared that Bungie would immediately follow up with a patch or the disabling of the Exotics. But only a message followed stating: “Not intentional. Aside from that, we will not prioritize fixing this issue in an immediate patch. Have fun with it while it lasts!”
What are the fans’ reactions? They appreciate the developers’ flexibility but respond on x.com with the suggestion to keep this “bug” as a new feature of the glaives. The following can be heard:
- “Don’t fix it. Class-restricted weapons are a terrible idea” – @TygersByte
- “If it’s fun and doesn’t hurt anyone, it should be left as is.” – @thelugardis
- “I hope this doesn’t get fixed. Almost no one uses the glaive class, but it actually makes them somewhat appealing and interesting! Keep it in!” – @Commander_Prime
- “Don’t fix it. It doesn’t break the game and it’s fun. These glaives have been a disappointment until now.” – @ninshua
Does the bug break the game? Not directly, by keeping the bug, the different classes would have the opportunity for “multiclassing” – that is, to do things that other classes can also do.
This could be particularly useful in Nightfalls, and otherwise the glaives are not so strong that they would make a huge difference.
The healing shield and the small bubble would be a strong addition in a Nightfall, but they do not replace the Titan or the Warlock – let alone the Hunter.
