Today, on March 3rd, the MMORPG Black Desert celebrates its 5th anniversary since launch in the West. Accordingly, there was an outlook on upcoming innovations. The new class Sage will be released still in March. However, the current information is confusing the players.
What happened? The developers of Black Desert announced innovations for the MMORPG in a blog post. These are basically already aligned with the roadmap for 2021.
New is the announcement of the class “Sage”:
- It is supposed to arrive on March 24th for us
- In the nearly 30 seconds, a deep male voice is heard, suggesting a male character
- The voice speaks about its “return from eternity”
However, the trailer mainly causes confusion rather than clarity.
What is the problem? In the trailer, in the first seconds, a stone monster can be seen in the background. However, it does not really look like the new class. Because all previous playable characters were humans, even if in the case of the Shai with a rather cute and childlike appearance.
The rest of the trailer, however, only shows a mysterious cube from various positions and partly with very close and detailed shots.
And this raises questions and is currently a huge topic of conversation in the community.
The cube might contain the counterpart to black magic
How are the player reactions? So far, the short trailer has received positive feedback, although many players find little meaning in the content.
Instead, people are wondering about the cube under the trailer or making jokes about it:
- Shin Jinyi writes: “So…. you want to tell me that this new class is just a cube and not a person?”
- The user FusionAlchemist comments: “I really want to play a golden cube!”
- CMDR Tony Curtis has already prepared his name: “I will be the first to give Sage this name: Rubiks.”
What is behind the class? Currently, there is no concrete information on the Sage. However, the YouTube user Retromastery has an interesting theory:
Oh man, this seems to be the white/light counterpart of the black/dark magic from which the black spirit consists.
Do you remember how we first got into this mess with our black spirit? The SAME cube was visible at the beginning of the game in the early ruins, only this cube here is completely golden. So it’s either a light counterpart or an uncorrupted cube of the black spirit.
The Sage could therefore not only be interesting to play but also bring a new twist to the story of Black Desert.
