Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gives its players on the PS5 something that some of them have already paid for. These players are not exactly pleased.
What kind of gift is this? It includes two skin bundles: “Jungle Trooper” and “Blood Letting”. You can get these and other rewards for free if you have an active PS Plus membership. You can claim the gift in the PS Store.
So far, PS Plus packs have always offered content that could not be found anywhere else. However, in the current PS Plus rewards, both “Jungle Trooper” and “Blood Letting” were sold in November 2024 for 1,600 and 1,300 CoD points, respectively. Anyone who owns PS Plus and has already purchased the skins should not have had to do so.
Those who already have the skins see nothing but empty space
How is the gift received by the players? On Reddit, many players express their dissatisfaction.
- Nedtheshred sarcastically writes: “Wow, the one pack I paid for is now free. Fantastic job.”
- ravenspore is also annoyed but takes it rather calmly: “Annoying since I bought the ‘Blood Letting’ bundle, but it’s a great emote with the zombie head, I’m glad to have the other one.”
- That_Wet_Banana69 joins in: “Also the only skin I paid for… Frustrating.”
Another user named Blaze-Fusion points out that one might try for a refund in this case: “Sony is usually lenient with such things. People have received refunds for games they bought just before they became free with PS Plus.”
PS5 players get “better promos” than Xbox
Other players are surprised that PS5 players still receive gifts even after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard. JeeringDragon writes: “So PS still gets exclusives after the acquisition by MS? Lol”.
- RedHawwk wonders: “How is the game owned by Xbox and yet PS still gets better promos?”
However, Vapeflowers correctly points out that these are not exclusive skins – just those that you receive for free with PS Plus. Moreover, the Game Pass already includes the entire game for free – so in the end, players on Xbox probably get the better deal than the two free skin bundles that PlayStation players receive.
The constant negative mood in the CoD community is also affecting others: They complain about how many are complaining. More on this topic can be read in the following article: Players of CoD Black Ops 6 are annoyed that part of the community keeps complaining
