In Baldur’s Gate 3, some processes are quite intuitive, but other things players only discover later. A player has uncovered a simple game mechanic after 200 hours in the RPG and is now collecting useful tips on Reddit.
The user “ThatsJustPeachyKeen” admitted on October 16 in the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit that he only discovered a simple game mechanic after 200 hours of gameplay. He has just now figured out how to dispel concentration spells outside of combat. In fact, you can remove concentration from your characters at any time.
After admitting this, he is now gathering more simple things that players of Baldur’s Gate 3 only discovered late.
This video shows you, among other things, how to end concentration spells:
Even after hundreds of hours of gameplay, players are still learning
The post by “ThatsJustPeachyKeen” on Reddit has currently gathered around 2,900 comments (as of October 17, 6:00 PM). There he asks the players of Baldur’s Gate 3 which simple game mechanic they have “discovered embarrassingly late”.
These tips can be found in the comments:
- You can not only remove concentration from characters, but you can also switch between party members who have the same initiative in combat. You do not have to finish the turn to switch. You can mix and adjust their attacks and movements before you complete their turns.
- You can drag an item from the ground to a character’s portrait to place it directly in their inventory – without putting it in your inventory […] and sending it to the character.
- By pressing the Tab key, you open all four inventories of your group at once.
- You can hide equipped musical instruments in the same way as helmets.
- You can throw a poison on the ground of the camp and dip your entire group’s weapons in it; the dipping lasts until a long rest and buffs. The poison puddle lasts for days.
- Switching from Trading to Bartering with NPCs will display the “Sell All Goods” button.
By the way, you can trade with many NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3 that at first glance do not look like merchants:
- You can place a potion on the ground near several grouped characters and shoot it so that it hits everyone in a small AoE. You can also simply throw the potion – but throwing is an action, while a hand attack is a bonus action.
- There is no reason to carry supply stocks, so always send them directly to the camp. During a long rest, supplies are taken from the camp chest.
- Instead of sneaking past the poison gas, you can throw any item into the vents at Aunt Ethel to stop the poison gas – for example, the masks lying around or unnecessary clothing.
- Gold is heavy, so leave most of your gold in the camp and take only a few thousand with you.
- Dialogues with companions do not only happen when exclamation marks are visible over them. They have a lot to say when they are out of sight of other companions.
A user writes that he has already played for over 400 hours and still finds something new when he reads such posts. He can imagine that the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 are certainly already waiting for someone to discover cool Easter eggs.
The other developer would then say in this case: “They are still discovering new buttons in the user interface, man, this will take a while.”
Thank goodness we have already compiled 10 fascinating Easter eggs from Baldur’s Gate 3:
