After all, there is nothing more annoying than being new to a game and only being able to compete against much more experienced opponents.
What is the problem? Currently, many players are voicing their frustration about Apex Legends. The reason: They feel that the skill-based matchmaking is not working, it’s even broken.
In the subreddit for Apex Legends, many upset players are discussing the issue and demanding that developer Respawn fix the problems.
Too many good players, or is the matchmaking broken?
Here’s why the players believe the matchmaking is broken: Many complain that they constantly end up in matches with other players who are significantly better.
This leaves players like PolishMuhGrapple1 with only two conclusions: Either there are significantly more skilled players in Apex than casual players. Or the matchmaking is not functioning properly and often throws “worse” players in with the experienced.

He is not alone in his concerns. Numerous players report similar experiences, stating that they constantly encounter much stronger players.
Some suspect that Respawn has made changes to the system recently, as the problems only started in the last few days. The situation changed only with the launch of Season 9.
Others suspect that the system was simply completely scrapped with Season 9. Since the developers have not commented on this so far, speculation can only occur at this time.
Significantly more players in recent weeks
Here’s how it’s currently going with Apex Legends: Since the start of the new season, the player count for Apex has significantly increased, with numbers on Steam exploding. A main reason is that this was the biggest update to the battle royale shooter so far.
