The people responsible at Capcom warn in a new message to the community against making adjustments to the quests of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Why are the developers warning? Cheats, hacks, and mods in Monster Hunter Wilds remain a hotly debated topic. Now the developers explain on the official website of the game that some players have apparently made unauthorized modifications to game data for high-level environments, field explorations, and comparable content (via monsterhunter.com).
Especially concerning the adjustment of quests, the devs warn: “Modified data can disrupt regular gameplay and even lead to the unplayability of the game.” Capcom’s recommendation: “If you suspect that a quest might be modified, please do not play it or immediately abandon it.”

Stricter measures against cheaters
How to recognize modified quests? Quest mods apparently aim to increase the number of monsters as well as bonus reward slots. Missions that do not meet the usual conditions should be avoided in every case, or you should leave them immediately and exit the game without saving.
In light of the warning, the developers emphasize that cheating behavior violates the terms of service of Monster Hunter Wilds. Permanent bans can be the result, even if you have only participated in such a quest.
Furthermore, Capcom’s representatives explain that they plan to implement additional measures in future updates to identify users who have made unauthorized modifications to game data, in order to better protect other players from such behavior.
