In Destiny 2 Easter eggs are rare, so it’s even cooler when they are discovered by Guardians themselves. This time, a cute Robo-dog is hidden behind a surprise from Bungie. But Guardians don’t even know what they are actually petting.
What is this Easter egg? It is a secret that players can unveil since Season 19. This secret is hidden in Clovis-Bray’s lab behind a locked, automated door. You can only open it if you shoot 50 yellow drones that are hidden wildly in Destiny 2. For this, you need the new Exo weapon “Revision Zero”.
Once you’ve done that, a cute Robo-dog awaits you, just waiting to be petted by you. But before you pet the dog, you should know how Bungie managed to make it possible for you to pet the dog at all. One thing in advance – it is really funny.
A naked, pink man made petting possible
How does the dog work? To pet the dog, you just need to walk up to him and press a designated button. Then an animation is triggered in which you do something good for the dog, pet him, and he happily wags his tail.
Bungie shared a video in its weekly TWaB showing how they tested this and unlocked a new “Guardian fear” which players in the Destiny Reddit referred to as the “terrible pink goblin”.

In the video, a Guardian with his weapon is seen in a “test area”. In front of him crouches a man in a skin-tight, pink suit, waiting to be petted.
Bungie itself talks about the dog and that the team decided to implement one in Season 19. However, it wasn’t that easy, which is why they decided on this test.
When the team came up with the idea for the dog “Archie”, they definitely wanted the option for players to be able to pet the dog at the end. For this reason, Bungie used its pink placeholder model to test the new gesture and as players can experience for themselves, it worked.
It’s absolutely interesting to see what funny means developers use to test new things and ultimately bring them into the game. Such development steps are usually never seen by fans, but, as is the case with the Robo-dog from Destiny 2, only as a final version. This insight was all the funnier.
What do players say about it? Guardians on reddit have had a great laugh and joked that Bungie should also implement the “terrible pink goblin” as an emote in the game. Additionally, the following comments were also read:
