In Helldivers 2, the battle against bugs and robots can be quite intense. And apparently, the difficulty limit has not yet been reached.
Why is there talk about the enemies? As a Helldiver, you have to deal with many foes who want to take you down. Recently, there were even more than usual, as significantly larger groups of enemies attacked players after a patch.
As community manager “Twinbeard” announced on May 15 in the Helldivers Discord, this was the case for all players, but especially for solo Helldivers or groups with less than four players.
This update is now being rolled back, as it apparently became more difficult than anticipated. The announcement of this rollback should bring relief to some of the overwhelmed Helldivers.
Nevertheless: It seems that it could become a bit tougher, especially in the difficult tiers.
“We have something in store”
Will the game get harder? A commentator in the Discord humorously suggested saving the spawn rate for “difficulty 10.” As of now, there isn’t even a difficulty level 10 in Helldivers 2; the highest tier so far is level 9. But could that change?
At least Twinbeard responded: I think we have something for the 1337 players who still breeze through everything
, said the community manager. However, Twinbeard did not provide more details: “Unfortunately, my lips are sealed.”
Even the offer from another user to give the community manager 10 super credits if he reveals the truth could not sway Twinbeard so far. Therefore, it remains to be seen what changes might be coming for the Helldivers.
Based on the community manager’s comment, it should be something that newcomers have nothing to do with at first. Instead, the new challenge is likely aimed at the currently best Helldivers.
It also fits well that the developers want to readdress balancing. Recently, there was criticism that there were too many nerfs and too few buffs. One of the Helldivers developers responded, stating that they are currently working on it. So, we can only hope that with greater challenges, stronger means will come into play to overcome them.
