In Pokémon GO exciting places in the real world are marked as PokéStops. These can be important buildings, parks, artworks, or signs. One stop is currently making the rounds in the Pokémon GO community. The Nightmare Pikachu.
Why is the stop making the rounds? In Pokémon GO, it is one of the main tasks to visit various PokéStops or gyms and spin their photo discs. This grants you items such as balls, potions, eggs, and sometimes a gift. This gift cannot be opened by yourself, only sent to friends.
Friends will then see the photo disc with an image of the stop when opening the gift. The image of a stop in Australia is titled “Nightmare Pikachu” and lives up to its name.
“Voldemort fused with Pikachu”
This is what the gift shows: On reddit, GlitchingNO posted a screenshot of a gift he received in Pokémon GO. The gift comes from Australia and shows a coin ride styled as Pikachu. However, this appearance is seen by many trainers as more “creepy” than “cute”.
The small Pikachu, which appears agile and sporty in the games of the franchise, looks somewhat “out of shape” in the screenshot.
In the comments, many trainers joke about the appearance of Pikachu and say, “It will haunt you in your dreams.” User AngelDragongem writes, “Voldemort fused with Pikachu”
User BrowniesWithNoNuts mentions that this type of ride probably exists more often. When searching for “Pikachu Coin Ride” on Google, you can find more similar devices with this appearance.
Some other trainers say they have seen these pieces in real life and walked past them.
