This feature is already present in some games, including Minecraft, and would allow players in Fortnite to sell their excess loot to NPCs scattered throughout the island.
This has now been found out: The first information about this new feature leaked back in December, and the well-known data miner HYPEX has now revealed that NPCs who are willing to buy items from you will be marked with a special symbol: a wallet with a dollar sign.
This is supposed to give the characters introduced in Season 5 – Chapter 2 a new meaning and purpose. For now, they are still bound to the system where they sell you weapons or assign bounty hunts, but they can also be recruited as allies to facilitate the game.
These NPCs should also be able to do this soon: In addition, these special marked NPCs are also expected to have the option to call in supply drops for 600 bars – which is not exactly cheap. But with the ability to sell legendary weapons, you should be able to fill your wallets quickly with gold bars if this option indeed becomes available.
When and if this feature will actually be available in the game is not known yet. Although the characters are active in Season 5, this season is coming to an end soon. So if this feature is still to be introduced, it is more likely to be available at the start of Season 6.
