In Fortnite, one of the rarest emotes finally made its way back to the item shop after nearly 4 years. This has caused a stir in the community, but after 3 hours, the emote was gone again. What happened?
What kind of emote was it? One of the rarest emotes briefly made it into the shop. It was the emote “Tidy”. This move was inspired by Snoop Dogg and required you to repeatedly swipe.
For many, a dream came true on the night of December 6, as some collectors didn’t even have this emote in their collection. It hadn’t returned to the item shop for 1455 days, almost 4 years.
So today was the day, but after three hours of its return, Epic Games canceled its decision and sent the emote back to the vault.
Here we have embedded the trailer to the gameplay of Chapter 4 in Fortnite again:
Players are flipping out because their emote is no longer OG
In the Fortnite community, there are still some players who refer to themselves as OG. These players have been around since the beginning and own many rare items, with which they brag in front of all the other fans. For this reason, a huge outrage broke out on Twitter, as many of these OG players went wild.
They cannot understand why Epic Games brought this emote back to the shop and why they are robbing them of these moves of their OG status. Many players comment under the post of Fortnite leaker Shiina and Hypex as follows:
- @Defaulting12 : “I’m shaking with rage, I’m crying so hard!!! That was my last rare emote and now it’s gone to these absolute noob losers!! […]”
- @JackDoh87643094 : “Dude, I had it OG … first they ruin their game with Chapter 4 and now they bring back my OG item …”
- @quantavioussy : “BRO, THAT WAS ONE OF THE ONLY OG EMOTES I HAD NOW”
Why was the emote removed? No one really knows. Epic Games released a short statement on Twitter stating that there was a shop area active for a short time and that it has now been deactivated. They are working on implementing further variations of this shop area.
It is not exactly known why it was removed, but we believe it was an oversight and these items were probably meant to be offered at a later point in the season.
What do you think about Epic Games leaving the emote in the shop for only 3 hours? Do you think it’s a shame or were you able to treat yourself to the emote? Feel free to leave us a comment!
