Cristiano Ronaldo is the Premier League POTM in FIFA 22. However, the requirements for the card are so extremely expensive that hardly anyone will be able to afford it – and this is not well received by many players.
This is the POTM: The “POTM” stands for “Player of the Month.” This award exists in several leagues. For example, the POTM voting for the Bundesliga is currently underway, and in the Serie A, Koulibaly was just named POTM.
Also, the Premier League POTM is now known: Cristiano Ronaldo will receive a 92-rated card.
These POTMs are also equipped with a strong special card in FIFA 22, which can be secured through a Squad Building Challenge. So you don’t have to rely on luck with packs or bid on the transfer market. Instead, you exchange teams of various values to obtain the card.
Actually, these SBCs are quite popular because you often get rid of unused players to secure good cards. However, the SBC for Cristiano Ronaldo is initially not well received by many players – because a lot is being asked for.
26 Teams for a CR7 – Players are not enthusiastic
These are the requirements: The SBC for Cristiano Ronaldo requires a total of 26 teams that you should exchange for the POTM card. These are not simple teams but often involve squads with very high ratings or requirements like TOTW players.
It looks something like this:
There are indeed pack rewards for the various partial SBCs; however, you need luck to recover the investment. On the futbin portal, the solution for the complete Ronaldo SBC is estimated at around 2.2 million coins – and this at a time when the transfer market is unusually low.
For comparison: The standard Ronaldo card with only one rating point less is currently priced at 1.4 million coins, which is still very expensive but significantly cheaper than the POTM card. Additionally, this card (just like Ronaldo’s dynamic OTW card) can be resold, unlike the untradeable POTM card. A circumstance that is causing discussion among FIFA players.
This is how the community reacts: In the FIFA subreddit, the price of the SBC is not well received. Many players are wondering: Who can afford this card? The reactions look something like this:
- “26 teams for a +1 CR7. Just buy the 91 rated one from the market,” thinks user “Splatz” (via reddit).
- “If it were later in the year and people had more untradeable SBC fodder, then it would be good to have a CR7 SBC that can be completed and still have many of his coins left. But at this point in the game, everyone will complete it with coins, which isn’t worth it,” says user “JPVazLouro” (via reddit).
- “Who the hell has that much fodder/coins after just two weeks?!”, asks a user (via reddit).
- “Absolute joke,” sums up a user briefly (via reddit).
Overall, the requirements simply seem far too high for players at this point in the game – even if you ultimately get a Cristiano Ronaldo. The card is certainly strong, after all, it’s still an improved Ronaldo.
But especially when compared to alternatives and considering that FIFA 22 has not been out for long, the SBC seems too expensive.
To solve this, you need quite a few high-rated players. If you still want to try tackling the SBC, you could certainly use some good rewards. You can find them, for example, in the Weekend League – and tips for more wins on the weekend can be found here.
