In Destiny 2, after completing the campaign, it’s all about grinding for the best loot. However, the effort to obtain it continues to rise, now even forcing hardened farmers to their knees.
Inflation also in Destiny 2: Not only the real world is struggling with inflation, but so is the world of Guardians. Players complain about incredibly harsh grinding for minimal loot output. It’s about the targeted focusing of Umbrella Engrams and the Glimmer shop of the Eververse.
Players of the space shooter now have to spend hours earning the necessary currency in activities, only to then waste it on overpriced and rising prices. Therefore, players are finally demanding balanced prices from Bungie, so that even more iron reserves do not need to be plundered and more Guardians do not end up bankrupt.
Destiny 2 does not respect the time of the Guardians
On various platforms, the community is already discussing the constantly rising prices, the never-decreasing effort, and the inconsiderateness of Destiny 2. Many complain that the space shooter is the only game that does not respect the time of the Guardians.
The community is having wild discussions: On reddit and MeinMMO, newcomers and veterans alike are discussing the shopping conditions in Destiny 2. Players are being milked while they search for their God-Roll for the seasonal weapon. In this, the reddit user nihhtwing shares their experience with the overpriced prices in the loot shooter.
I spent my entire stock of 20,000 legendary shards at Rahool to get a “The Old Fashioned” with QD + KC. I never got one. To this day, I’m constantly stuck under 200 shards. I’m a D1Y1 veteran who has played Destiny to some extent every year. I have thousands of hours on the clock, I play almost 100 hours a week, and because I’m focusing on engrammes and buying stuff from Xur, I’m currently stuck at 1 legendary shard. Damn ONE. I will never get out of this hole of poverty unless I stop focusing on engrams and shopping at Xur, and I absolutely hate it. […]
And our MeinMMO users also complain about the current prices and conditions, especially looking at the Eververse. Lionel the Boss thinks under our Glimmer Guide the following:
[…] Everything in the Eververse is ridiculously expensive! The prices for shaders have increased by 650% (from 40 to 300 Glimmer (GS)). Inflation kicks in. […]
Here, Lionel himself says that the only farmable source of Glimmer cannot be optimally utilized for farming. It requires too much time for players to finally get or purchase what they want. Guardians either dump all their Glimmer or planetary resource stock just to buy a cool ship for 2000 Glimmer, Lionel believes. The amount you can earn over time is not in proportion to the prices Bungie demands in the game.
Guardians demand adjustments: On reddit, players are demanding adjustments regarding the amount of playable legendary shards. They want an activity where they are literally flooded with them, rather than being forced to waste hours in the same activities just to have the chance to focus an engram.
The grind is a big part of Destiny 2, but it should not dampen the fun of the loot shooter through overpriced prices.
What do you think of the prices and the related effort to earn the currencies for it? Do you find them justified, or does Bungie need to adjust the prices? Let us know in the comments!
