The excitement in Destiny 2 is rising. In less than two weeks, players will find out what the space shooter wants to entertain them with for the next 3 months. Among these is a new, free raid for all players. But which one it is has not yet been revealed. That’s why we asked our community, and they know exactly what they want to play.
What does Season 18 bring in Destiny 2? Players in Destiny 2 can expect a lot of excitement at the start of Season 18. Currently, not much is known. It is known that Season 18 will bring a new season pass, seasonal weapons and armor, a returning PvP map, and a new mode for the Crucible.
However, the real highlights are still mostly top-secret. Neither the name of the new Season 18 is known, nor are there any clues about the story. At least the new super abilities, called Arc 3.0, have been confirmed by Bungie in advance for Season 18. But the biggest highlight, which raid from Destiny 1 is returning in Season 18, is still open.
Therefore, we wanted to know from you in a survey which raid you would like to see return the most. In this article, we will look at the results of the survey and let your comments speak.
This is how you voted: The MeinMMO survey ran from July 29 to August 12, and 1,920 of you voted enthusiastically. Each reader had only one vote available.
The choice was among 3 legendary Destiny 1 raids that Bungie is currently keeping in the content vault. On one hand, Wrath of the Machine from the expansion “The Taken King” in 2016. Then the challenging King’s Fall raid from the expansion “The Taken King” in 2015, and last but not least, Crota’s End, the raid from the expansion “The Dark Below” in 2014.
Your vote distribution looks like this:
- For “Wrath of the Machine would be my highlight” only: 19.27% (370 votes)
- “Crota’s End should return” received: 23.80% (457 votes)
- And for “I would rather play King’s Fall” voted 55.99% (1075 votes)
The result shows that you definitely want to see “King’s Fall,” one of the biggest raids from Destiny 1, return. And thus also one of the most iconic contents in the entire franchise.
This would also fit into the current story: Indeed, the King’s Fall raid would be more than fitting for the current DLC “The Witch Queen.” After all, its raid boss “Oryx” is not only the king of the Taken but also Savathun’s brother, and his return would be a great opportunity to show players what has happened to him.
You know exactly which raid you definitely want to play again
In the comments of our survey, some players would actually celebrate the return of the “King’s Fall” raid, which you voted for in first place. Destiny 2 player Chris is even already praying that it happens.
I’m praying for Kingsfall. I would farm it nonstop. It’s by far my favorite raid.

Other players, like MeinMMO reader no12playwith2k3, would prefer Crota’s End to return. Because he expects more fun from it, just like back in Destiny 1.
Crota’s End would […] bring about some exciting and funny community challenges. I’m pretty sure that the raid will still be glitchy, buggy, and cheesy.

For many players, including our Destiny author Christos Tsogos, the question arises whether the new legacy raid in Season 18 will also return with the original weapons.
If Bungie were to orient itself on the first returning raid “The Glass Chamber,” which brought back the Vex Mythoclast, then this could happen again
- “King’s Fall” could then bring back the scout rifle exotic “Touch of Malice.”
- “Crota’s End” would probably contain the exotic 900 auto rifle “Necrochasm.”
- Only for the raid exotic from “Wrath of the Machine,” something new would need to be developed. Because Bungie has already brought its highlights back to Destiny 2 with the exo pulse rifle “Perfected Outbreak” and the “Sleeper Simulant.”
Let’s hope that Bungie also knows the players’ wishes and brings back the hoped-for raid of the community in Season 18. We are certainly looking forward to it.
Do you find your opinion reflected in the survey results? And would you celebrate the winning raid from our voting if it actually finds its way back into the game? Or are you one of the readers who wonder why players keep coming back to play Destiny 2? Then we have the explanation for you:
