Players in Baldur’s Gate 3 find an unusual way to collect gold. They hoard piles of crates to sell them. MeinMMO reveals what it’s all about.
This is why players become crate traders: There are many ways to make a name for yourself in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3: as a powerful wizard, or perhaps as a skilled swordsman or cunning thief. But player Stompingchicken tells of his roommate and his brother, for whom there is only one right way in Faerûn – they have become crate traders and are thus collecting heaps of gold.
This video gives you helpful tips on how to reduce your carrying capacity:
The Crate Kings of Baldur’s Gate 3
What does it look like? The two players explored Faerûn and stumbled upon a remarkable discovery: crates, containers, and vases, scattered everywhere, some filled with precious contents. And the best part? Each of these crates was a little treasure of gold in itself. Because they discovered that each crate or similar was worth some gold coins.
Immediately, the two began to build an impressive collection of crates. Every single container they found, they sent to the storage according to Stompingchicken (via Reddit). They became true crate hunters, searching every corner of Faerûn for crates and thus living out their role-playing.
Or as player quentariusqincy (via Reddit) emphasizes: D&D players with a lenient game master living their best role-playing life are like this.
Here you can see the Reddit post. They collected 4710 crates (possibly including more items) and achieved a value of 200,636 gold:
But that’s not all. The two players managed to take the business to the next level. They became real crate traders, bargaining with every NPC they met and selling the crates. Their motto? Screw the parasite, we will be crate traders.
Stompingchicken emphasizes how proud he is of the two.
For the two, it was a true gold rush. Every NPC that struck a crate deal with them became a part of their success story.
But why this crate mania? The answer is simple: gold. In Baldur’s Gate 3, gold is invaluable. With enough gold, you can buy better equipment and more items. Among other things, a lot of dye to color your armor to your liking.
