The death of Rift player Nikita “Wintercharm” Hedingham hit the MMORPG community hard. To commemorate her, the players are establishing a garden in the MMORPG.
Through the official forum of the MMORPG Rift, the Dimensionaddicts chat channel informed the community that player Nikita “Wintercharm” Hedingham had passed away. The 17-year-old was struck by a tractor-trailer while she was riding her bike to a job and succumbed to her injuries.
Community expresses condolences
The mother of the 17-year-old informed the members of the chat channel because she knew how much her daughter loved playing Rift. She wanted to inform the girl’s friends that Nikita had passed away. The news prompted many reactions.
The community expressed deep sorrow and extended their condolences. Especially in the housing community, the girl was known and liked. According to her mother, she loved Rift and had wished to see the Trion building at least once.
Friends create garden for “Wintercharm”
Since “Wintercharm” was particularly enthusiastic about building things in the game and enjoyed creating gardens, players have now established a garden in her honor on the Greybriar server.
The special thing is: The mourners are invited to help design the garden. Anyone who wishes to express their condolences or perhaps knew Nikita can contribute something to the garden every Sunday in January. The garden is meant to serve as a retreat where one can celebrate the life of “Wintercharm” and always remember her.
