Actually, June 26, 2025, should go down in history as a day to celebrate in Throne and Liberty. But instead of a release party for the first raid in the game, there are technical problems and delays.
Which raid is it about? So far, there have only been dungeons in Throne and Liberty, not raids. This was supposed to change on June 26, 2025, with the “Altar of Calanthia” raid. The 12-player raid was set to appear in both “normal” and “hard” difficulty levels, with a third, even higher difficulty level announced for the future.
The anticipation among players for the date was accordingly high, as quite some time had passed since the last major add-on “Wilderness of Talandre,” and the events in the meantime could not compete with a true raid.
But instead of an epic raid experience, technical problems are now causing frustration among players, and the developers also need to step in.

Raid Delays and Technical Problems
How did the raid release go? With five and a half hours of maintenance work, the developers released the new patch 2.16.0 on the morning of June 26, 2025, which was also supposed to include the raid. But just a few hours after the patch, complaints from players began to pile up on Reddit:
- naty150: “How can they mess everything up? Every time you enter the raid, you get kicked out. Good grief, what kind of developers are these?”
- orbtl: “A huge disappointment as many people took today off to play the raid right at launch.”
- Tomitaki: “I can’t even use the raid shop. I’m being told I don’t have enough Sollant, even though it costs this new currency (that I have) and not Sollant.”
Already three hours after the patch, the developers addressed the issues for the first time on X.com. They wrote: “We are aware of the issues affecting the new Calanthia raid. The team is currently investigating and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.”
When will the raid be released now? However, even at 18:05, the problem remains unresolved. Instead, the developers announced a delay of the raid to Friday, June 27, at 1:00 PM German time on X.com. For players, this is simply not enough. They feel disrespected, especially since the raid was already announced 3 months ago during the expansion and many groups had planned for today. Feedback on this has been negative:
- Smokefather says on X.com: “People had plans for today. Some adjusted their schedules. We understand that you do not respect players’ time, but you should have needed a success here.”
- SBFSkelly writes on X.com: “I don’t know how you managed to mess up the main aspect of the experience, but hats off to you guys. This is a new level of failure.”
- YahwhaY is upset on X.com: “If there was ever a time for an emergency hotfix, it’s now. Months delayed, advertised with ‘Road to Raid’ event, tons of people standing at the portal waiting for the countdown, only to be disappointed. I love TNL, but do the developers love it too?”
It is understandable that the fans of Throne and Liberty are disappointed by the developers’ blunder. Just with an extra event, the developers had previously built up anticipation, making the disappointment even greater: The biggest MMORPG on Steam gets its first 12-player raid, launching a new event to help you achieve it
