The MMORPG Guild Wars 2 announced the return of the Dragon Bash in June. This event first took place in June 2013, and since then, players have been wishing for a reprise. Six years later, it is finally happening.
Update on Dragon Bash 2020: The Dragon Bash event is back for another round! You can enjoy last year’s activities, which you can also find here in the article, once again in Hoelbrak. It kicks off on June 23, 2020, and will run until July 14.
This year, new are the electrifying Holographic Weapons, which you can exchange for Jorzipan. They represent an optical upgrade of last year’s weapons. Also, a holographic shoulder skin instead of the helmet from 2019.
The following post was originally from June 24, 2019.
What is the Dragon Bash? During the Dragon Bash, beings in the Guild Wars 2 world of Tyria celebrate the victory over the Elder Dragons. In the story, the undead dragon Zhaitan was defeated first, and this was celebrated in the city of Lion’s Arch in June 2013.
However, the event has not taken place since then. The victory over the dragon Kralkatorrik from the latest episode of the Living World seems to be the impetus to bring back the Dragon Bash after six years.
When does the Dragon Bash start? On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, the event is supposed to find its way back into the MMORPG. It will presumably start with the release of the patch around 6:00 PM our time.
The event will then last for three weeks, until July 16, 2019. You can get a glimpse of the celebration in the video from Guild Wars 2:
Dragon Arena, Moa Races, and Many Rewards
What content does the event offer? This year, the Dragon Bash will not take place in Lion’s Arch, but in the Norn capital of Hoelbrak. With this, the developers want to provide events in the other capitals as well.
In Hoelbrak, you can look forward to the following activities:
- Dragon Piñatas that appear everywhere and can be destroyed
- Holographic opponents that provide you with the currency Zhaikritze
- A new version of the Dragon Arena
- New mount races
- Bets on Moa races
- Many new rewards, including holographic miniatures and a helmet skin
What is the highlight of the event? MMORPG.com shared some details about the new Dragon Arena.
This year, there will be no PvP in the Dragon Arena.
Instead, you will face waves of Holographic Minions as a group. These waves are supposed to get stronger and larger with each round. However, there is only a limited time until the wave counts as not defeated.
A perfect activity to compete with other players and achieve the highest number of defeated waves.
What’s happening in Guild Wars 2 this summer? Guild Wars 2 will not be boring this summer either. In addition to the Dragon Bash, the Festival of Four Winds, another varied event, is expected to return at the end of July.
Additionally, until Tuesday, a World Boss Bonus Event is running, which allows you to craft new weapons. Overall, many new bonus events are planned for the coming weeks and months:
