Not long now, and the Early Access of Starfield is going to start, and the leaks about the RPG are already making their rounds. Some players on Reddit are mocking that not everyone knows how to categorize certain information from the game.
Information about the new Bethesda RPG Starfield is now to be taken with caution just before the release. There are a lot of frustrated PlayStation players venting about the PC and Xbox exclusive title. In addition, there is a ton of unconfirmed leaks circulating, as many content creators are already playing a preview version.
One of the bigger topics last week was the planet explorations. It was discussed that exploration may not be as extensive as previously announced. However, this has not been confirmed and there are also dissenting voices.
A user on Twitter complained that one cannot land on or explore gas giants. In our solar system, Jupiter and Saturn are considered gas giants, perhaps Neptune and Uranus as well – though they are often classified as ice giants today.
The user’s statement led to a huge thread on Reddit, as Sci-Fi fans simply do not expect that one can land on a gas giant. One might as well navigate to the sun.

The thread originated after a user tweeted: “You can’t go to these ‘planets’ because exploration is a lie. Jesus, it’s getting worse.” Along with pictures of a gas giant from Starfield. You can view the tweet in the Reddit thread (via reddit.com).
On Reddit, the statement is met with complete incomprehension.
The comment with the most upvotes is typically sarcastic for Reddit: “You want to tell me that you can’t explore the sun?” Another user writes: “You just have to do it in the middle of the night.”
The first Star Trek reference doesn’t take long to appear: “Or, even better: Do it like Captain Kirk – fly very fast around the sun. However, you might find yourself stuck in the 80s after a time travel.”
Why can’t you land on gas giants?
Unlike the rocky planets of our solar system – Mercury, Earth, Venus, Mars – gas giants do not have a proper surface to land on (via nasa.com). You would simply fly deeper into the inhospitable atmosphere, increasing the pressure on the ship’s systems until the material gives way.
However, there are also explanations that even Sci-Fi has its limits – especially when the stories do not take place thousands of years in the future, but only hundreds. Starfield is set in the year 2330, in which Pluto, by the way, is again counted among the planets.
Here, Starfield enthusiasts clash with critics’ statements; the mood is quite “salty”. Some users claim to have checked the account of the user with the gas giant statement and call him a frustrated “PlayStation fanboy” who is just attacking Xbox.
