In GTA 5 Online some players have been stuck in a session for weeks. But they don’t want to leave it. The reason is simple: Lots of money!
What kind of sessions are the players in? On PS4 and Xbox One, players are in sessions that were opened weeks ago. Their consoles have been running since the start of these sessions and are not turned off.
Why don’t they want to leave the session? A few weeks ago, a glitch in GTA Online was revealed that gave players a ton of money. This happened with the help of a single NPC.
Rockstar Games fixed this glitch after about 2 weeks. Those who want to start it now can no longer do so. But players in old sessions can still exploit the glitch because these outdated sessions still use the old data from GTA Online, with which the glitch is effective.
That’s why the players are currently refusing to leave these old sessions and throw away their chance at several million dollars. They just let the consoles run and won’t leave voluntarily. In the process, they are accumulating hundreds of millions of in-game currency.
On Reddit, some players report that their consoles have been running for days. They don’t see any reason to end it as long as they continue to receive a lot of money for doing nothing.
What do the players say? On Reddit a player asks: “How long can you stay in the glitch after the patch?”
“As long as you don’t turn off your console or your dashboard, you can stay as long as you want,” writes one player. To which the reply is: “Honestly, I thought that was too good to be true. But here we are, and we’re getting the money, baby.”
Another player responds, “I now own 400 million. All garages full with Scramjets etc. and I have bought and upgraded everything. I don’t know what else to do. I’m afraid my PS4 might explode. Almost 3 weeks now? Without a break.”
Why isn’t Rockstar doing anything about it? Rockstar has already released a patch that prevents the starting of the glitch. However, this has not yet stopped the active players. This will probably only happen if a server restart forces players to leave their sessions. It is unclear why this has not yet happened at this time.
