If you encounter this skin in Fortnite you can assume that there is a player behind it who plays a lot of Fortnite. This is now causing trouble for Fortnite players, as they find the unlock too harsh.
What kind of skin is this? In Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 2, you can unlock a gold variant for the Battle Pass Skins However, these are only available once you reach a certain level in Fortnite. This particular skin is the golden variant of Agent Peely.
You can obtain this as the last one when you reach Level 350. It should be clear to every player that this takes a long time. But now a player has calculated the exact numbers related to it.
Player calculates how difficult it really is
What does it take to unlock the skin? A player has now calculated how many experience points you need to unlock the golden Agent Peely. He shows how many hours per day you would need to play to secure the unlock within a limited-time season.
In his calculation, the player zMuska assumes that you started at Level 1 and did not buy any level from the Battle Pass. He created an overview of this and posted it on reddit.
Here are the results from the calculations:
- It takes a total of 29.5 million experience points for the golden banana
- 15.9 million XP must be earned separately in matches (no challenges, medal stamping cards, or daily missions)
- You would need to play 19 hours per day if you win Team matches
- It would be 6 hours per day for Team matches where you focus on looting
- 3 hours per day if you play squad matches
Since the rounds need to go “well” or successfully, one expects a longer match time, which then impacts the amount of play hours. Additionally, only the hours in which you are in a match are calculated here. Loading times do not count towards this.
However, one player has managed to reach Level 530 already, and it is assumed that he holds the highest level in Fortnite.
Players find the challenge absurd
How do players react to these calculations? Under the reddit post by zMuska, players complain about the XP system of Season 2. They do not seem to like that so much time must be invested to unlock a skin. They say:
- “Even though it is not impossible, it is still not okay. It encourages players to play an unhealthy amount. And for what? A skin they probably won’t use after that.”
- “In summary … you can’t unlock it unless you bought the entire Battle Pass at the start or have no life.”
- “That is absurd.”
- “I never realized that the (XP) system is that bad.”
It is not easy to obtain the golden Agent Peely, and it is likely that some of us will not succeed. But for all players who are close to it, there is a good chance to unlock him now. Epic has extended the end of Season 2 by another week.
