Fortnite: Battle Royale has received UFOs as flying vehicles. With them, you can effectively destroy buildings. However, not all players are pleased. The first calls for nerfs are being heard, but other players say “it’s not that bad!”
What do the UFOs do? In Chapter 2, Season 7 of Fortnite, there are now UFOs as new vehicles. The UFOs hover above the map, are quite fast, have 600 hit points, and can blast opponents away with their beam weapons, cause area damage, and especially tear down buildings.
However, the joy is limited for some players, as especially in the endgame, UFOs are real “game-changers” that can render established tactics absurd.
Players want a nerf, but others say “just shoot!”
How do the UFOs engage? The player and reddit user seanboi2278 masters building in Fortnite and can wall himself in seconds. This technique is especially important in the endgame of a round, and the remaining players often engage in intense building battles.
But it all becomes a fiasco when UFOs are in play. In the case of seanboi2278, there were even 2 UFOs that blasted through seanboi’s cover faster than he could rebuild it. In the end, he had to give up and a few UFO hits ended his ambitions for the final victory.
On reddit, he posted the scene and noted that he actually likes the current season, but the UFOs are too powerful. The recoil of the projectiles should be removed, and the radius of the area damage should be reduced.
Other players agreed and found the UFOs too strong:

- Lillbro64: “I’m surprised they haven’t adjusted the fire rate on those things yet.”
Other reddit users have also criticized the UFOs, primarily complaining about the fire rate or the faulty hitboxes.
Are there any opposing voices? However, not all players agreed with the criticism. The UFOs can indeed be destroyed, either by hijacking them or shooting them down with the Railgun:

The new Railgun seems to be a good weapon against UFOs, but apparently the hitboxes of the UFOs are still buggy, and sometimes even well-aimed shots do not seem to affect them. Many fans are hoping for improvement.
As with all vehicles in Fortnite, time will tell how they will perform in the meta-game, or whether a nerf or even complete removal might be necessary. A particularly extreme example where a vehicle has massively angered the fans were the mechs from Season 10 of Chapter 1.
