Just over 24 hours after the release on iOS and Android, the PC version of Diablo Immortal came to the Battle.net launcher. The version launches as a beta and fails to convince many fans – we showcase the problems and developer statements regarding the PC version on MeinMMO.
Diablo Immortal is a complete Diablo game for mobile. At the end of April came the surprise – the new action RPG is also coming to PC.
However, the version for PC has issues. Missing settings options, control problems, and stress when connecting controllers: Many players believe there is still a lot to catch up on for the PC.
With which errors some players struggle and what the developers say about the release of the PC version, you will find out here on MeinMMO.

Diablo Immortal: Stress with the PC Version
What problems does the PC version cause? Looking shortly after the release at reddit or the official Blizzard forum, it quickly becomes clear that there is a lot of frustration surrounding the state of the PC beta of Diablo Immortal – alongside the criticism of character-bound microtransactions.
For example, there is the reddit thread “The PC version is a joke” with over 200 comments (via reddit).
The thread creator lists the following problems:
- No UI adjustments possible
- No options for resolution
- Problems with inventory management
- UI controls are awful
- No details when hovering over UI elements with the mouse
In the thread, there is a lot of support for this, but also considerable backlash. Commentators point out that this is a beta version for PC. This group questions where the high expectations for the beta come from, for a PC port of a mobile game.
Another major problem is considered to be the controls – there are issues with mouse and keyboard, but also the controller support has problems.
With the mouse, certain elements like portals or quest interactions are hard to interact with, and also in combat, selecting enemies for primary attacks in some cases is a matter of luck.
With controller support, there are problems because the stick control is sometimes extremely inaccurate. The cursor often goes far past the target or there is stick drift.
However, this also depends on your controller – we also had issues in the editorial office with controllers that use an Xbox control scheme. PlayStation controllers did not have this problem. A solution can also be found on reddit (via reddit).
Developers say: It’s a beta and mobile comes first
What do the developers say about this? Even before the release, Game Director Wyatt Cheng tried to manage expectations for the PC release. He emphasized even then: It is a beta for the PC port – the focus is clearly on the mobile version.
Cheng had already predicted that …
- Bugs will occur in the PC beta
- There may be problems with the controls
- There will be no UI scaling at launch
The goal of the PC version is to deliver a better experience than using emulators that bring the mobile game to PC through emulation. It is not meant to be a PC Diablo.
Actual bugs and errors, like the issue with controllers, will certainly get a fix soon. But for “Quality of Life” changes, the mobile version takes precedence, and it remains to be seen how far the developers will go to accommodate players.
What are your experiences in this regard? Are you also frustrated with the PC version, or do you think perhaps the expectations for the beta are partly too high? Feel free to leave us a comment on the topic.
