Chrono Odyssey is the new genre hope for many MMORPG fans. Currently, the closed beta for the game is running, but many are not too pleased with it. Now the CEO of the studio behind the MMORPG has addressed some critical comments.
What kind of beta is this? Since June 20, 2025, the closed beta for the MMORPG Chrono Odyssey has been running. Steam players can check out the game until June 22, 2025, if they have received a key.
After a gaming magazine already criticized that the game feels like an imitation of New World, there are now also first voices from the community. They don’t seem to be too thrilled either. The CEO of South Korean Chrono Studios is responding to some players’ criticisms on x.com.
CEO of the development studio promises improvements
What are the complaints? While players like Maneaterx on Reddit criticize that the game feels soulless and that the technology is not convincing, players on x.com are also expressing criticism.
- @bestofriendo37 (x.com) criticizes the optimization and the interface. He does not want it to feel like New World or Throne and Liberty.
- @Reinhardxd98 (x.com) finds the content good, but his biggest criticism is the animations, graphics, and lighting.
- @Savazel (x.com) asks if the 1v1 mode can be improved.
- @batdragonpurple (x.com) even praises the gameplay and the character creator, but complains that there was no proper communication that they are playing an old build in the current beta.
These criticisms are noted by the players under a tweet from the CEO of Chrono Studios, Bon-gun Bae. He also responds to some of the criticisms there. He explains that they could not conduct the current test with the current development version. They wanted to allow players to test a stable and bug-free version.
According to him, the goal of this test was the validation of core gameplay and conducting stress tests for the servers.
He even goes so far as to say: Aspects of the game will improve significantly

Additionally, he states that they want to improve the PvP experience in the future. He believes that they will see more of that in the next test. For the next test, they also want to upgrade
the UI.
Whether the mentioned criticisms will actually improve remains to be seen in the upcoming tests, which the CEO has already hinted at in various responses. The game is expected to be released later this year.
