In Apex Legends, Season 7 has started, bringing a new Battle Pass. However, it causes a lot of stress, as players now have to do significantly more to rank up compared to previous seasons.
Update November 6: The developers of Apex Legends have responded to player criticism.
They state on Twitter that they will make adjustments. To earn one of the 10 stars for leveling up in the Battle Pass, you now only need 5,000 XP. The requirement has thus been halved.
Additionally, the weekly tasks will take significantly less time starting next week. This is a big step forward for the players.
What’s new in Apex Legends: Last night, on November 5, Season 7 of Apex Legends was released. A new map and a new legend have been added. It is also one of the games we recommend to you in November.
Coincidentally, there is also a Battle Pass that offers some rewards. However, for Season 7, Apex Legends has revised the Battle Pass. There are new ways to level up the pass, which has received criticism: You now have to complete significantly more tasks to rank up.
Battle Pass too grind-heavy – Players feel un rewarded
Changes to the Battle Pass: To level up in the Battle Pass, you need 10 stars per level. You can earn the stars through various tasks in the game.
One star is worth 10,000 XP. So ultimately you need 100,000 XP just to rank up once.
In the past, it was significantly less. The XP required per level varied each week. It started with 9,000 XP and went up to a maximum of 54,000 XP for a level of the Battle Pass until the weekly reset.

The criticisms regarding the tasks: Through various tasks, you can now earn stars in the Battle Pass. Reddit user looseygoosey11 gives an example that the tasks now yield significantly less: “In previous seasons, respawning 5 teammates earned a level in the Battle Pass. Now respawning 15 teammates only brings 2 stars!”
In this case, you would still need to earn 8 more stars to rank up.
This is not the only task that now yields significantly less.
This is how the criticism looks: Numerous posts are currently gathering in the subreddit regarding the new Battle Pass. It is repeatedly stated that the pass is now way too grind-heavy.
It is also said that players do not feel truly rewarded. You have to do a lot to receive a relatively small reward in the end.
We summarize some voices from players on reddit:
- Bluesfear writes: “The new revision makes it much harder to reach levels in the Battle Pass. The daily tasks are much harder to complete, and 10k XP for 1 star is a lot.”
- reaktans reports: “I played for two hours. I completed all daily tasks, and I’m still at level 1. Don’t buy the pass.”
- YaKnowMuhSteez says: “The new system is terrible! Who has that much time besides streamers?”
- GrubbyLilPaws writes ironically: “I’m glad to announce that after completing all 5 daily tasks, 20,000 XP, 3 top-5 placements, and a win with 8 kills, I finally reached level 2 of the Battle Pass.”
In the meantime, a mod from the Apex Legends subreddit has opened a thread for players to provide feedback on the Battle Pass.
What else is going on in Apex Legends? Of course, players are currently trying out the new Season 7. There is a lot to discover.
419 top players, however, have to forgo this, as they have been banned:
