Players suspect they are currently deciphering a huge Easter egg in Call of Duty: Warzone. What’s the deal with the bunkers and phones?
What kind of puzzle is this? In new shooters, it has almost become the norm to hide Easter eggs or secret interactions. The battle royale mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone, is likely no exception.
Mysterious bunkers are now causing players to rack their brains. What do the developers mean by this? How do you crack the code?

On the huge Verdansk map, up to 150 players can fit. Familiar locations from Modern Warfare can be found there, but also entirely new areas. Players find mysterious bunkers scattered across the map, equipped with a keypad for input.
Players investigate the Easter egg in Warzone
What has been found? On Reddit, players post their findings to collaborate on a solution. So far, bunkers with input fields, phones, and laptops have been found.
YouTuber Drift0r demonstrates in one of his videos how such a bunker is constructed. He lands east of the stadium, enters the bunker construction, and initially finds nothing unusual on the first level. In the basement, he then discovers the large locked door.

Drift0r explains in the video that there are three more of these input fields located across the map. Also, there are phones that can be picked up and a computer in the Atlas Superstore.
In the official map guide of Call of Duty: Warzone, you can get precise information about the various Points of Interest on the map. Here, players also recognized hints at a puzzle. The bunkers are referred to as “Classified” and the description text is cryptic.
“Redacted” means edited/revised.
What could it mean? It could be that you have to activate the various objects you can interact with in a certain order. This is common practice with Easter eggs. In Battlefield 1, you had to open various valves simultaneously, to summon a giant shark. In Ghost Recon Wildlands, players searched for various clues, to eventually find the Yeti.
As Easter eggs in Call of Duty, players have already found
- beach balls raining down from the sky
- a reference to a cult mission from CoD4
- and an easter egg for fans of “Back to the Future”
What the puzzle in Warzone is all about is still unclear. Maybe the solution hasn’t been activated in the game yet. It’s possible that powerful weapons are hidden behind the heavy doors, which will only be unlocked through an in-game event. What do you think?
It is quite possible that Italians will crack the puzzle first, as their gaming hours are skyrocketing due to the Corona virus.
